What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Splendid. I think it is essential that anyone in business understand what they are doing and why. I do, however, ask that before any action is taken we discuss their research in the broader context of the law.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I am happy to do this so long as there is a clear understanding, as required by bar ethics, as to my responsibility and that of the clients.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I do it everyday. Self help and learning through experience is important to business skill development. As a professional negotiator, I enjoy helping others deal with the day to day issues they face.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I enjoy the intellectual challenge of the law, the practical challenge of dealing in the real world and the interaction with others.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I believe that providing legal services is an important trust. Business today operates in a complex, costly and often confusing environment. My goal is to provide a worthwhile service at a fair price. I am committed to practical, cost effective service, which is individually directed to meet my clients' needs and objectives.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I was raised in a small family business and understand the hard work and demands that small businesses face.

What do you like best about your career?

I like working with motivated, business oriented individuals.

Tell us about your law firm:

I was managing partner of an eight lawyer, thirty-five paralegal civil litigation firm in San Francisco. I elected to work on my own so I could utilize my experience and skill to provide more specialized attention to my clients.

What are your strengths and style?

Although I am not sure about "unique," I bring problem solving, negotiation skills, experience and sound business judgment to the table.

I am a listener. You will find me calm, confident, assertive as needed, as well as goal and success oriented.

Personal Interests:

Family, parents, children, grandchildren, community, self-awareness and health.
