Firm Focus and History

I started Blackburn Law, PC right out of law school in May, 2003 and we have been helping personal injury clients ever since.

Attorneys at Blackburn Law, PC are dedicated to helping people who have been seriously injured in all types of accident cases, including car, trucking or motorcycle accidents, dog attacks, burns, scarring, surgery and more. Common injury claims I handle involve broken bones, surgery, paralysis, death, neck and back injuries, knee and shoulder injuries, burns, scarring and more.

Previous Employment Summary

I worked as a legal assistant to attorney Tim Gresback in Moscow, Idaho while I was attending law school at the University of Idaho from 2000 to 2003. During that time, I assisted Mr. Gresback with his personal injury practice to obtain justice for his clients.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Every person who is injured as the result of someone else's negligent conduct should consult with a personal injury attorney as soon as possible after the injury. This doesn't mean you have to hire an attorney, but you should find out some basic mistakes to avoid to protect the legal integrity and factual basis for your claim.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I do not do document reviews for prospective clients.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I do not generally coach pro se individuals.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

Prior to becoming a lawyer, I worked for the largest personal injury firm in Idaho. Through that experience I learned that people who were injured needed more than a consultation and a case manager. They needed to talk to a lawyer who would listen and communicate regularly with them throughout their case. At my office, I answer my own phone and speak directly to my clients so they know their case is being taken care of personally.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

Years ago, I hired a lawyer who was absolutely awful. I could never get a hold of him on the phone, and when we went to court, he actually asked me what was going on with my case. That experience, coupled with my previous work experience at another personal injury law firm, and a sincere desire to help people, makes me a better lawyer every day. Many of my clients become lifelong friends with whom I enjoy various activities and discussions.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I have known for many years that insurance companies are in business to make big profits. Unfortunately, I believe they do this at the expense of the very people they are supposed to protect. When you're hurt in an accident, the last thing you want to do is allow the insurance company to tell you what medical bills they'll pay and what your pain and suffering is worth. Insurance companies that put profits over people need to understand that Idaho juries will not tolerate such policy.

What do you like best about your career?

I enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that with my assistance, regular people like you and me can fight against the billion-dollar insurance industry. Helping people obtain justice is an important part of the recovery process, and there's nothing better than seeing someone make a full recovery after being injured.

Tell us about your law firm:

I personally handle all of my clients' cases. I answer my own phone, and if for some reason I am unavailable because of court or another client is here at my office, I return calls quickly, sometimes within minutes.

What are your strengths and style?

I am thorough and professional in my work. Through years of experience, I have been able to develop a rapport with many defense attorneys and insurance company representatives and can generally get things done quickly because of my ability to address the issues and get the insurance company to "yes."

Personal Interests:

I enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities with my family. Hiking, fishing, shooting, camping, geocaching, ATV's, boating and photography.
