What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

A well informed client is the best kind of client for a law firm. This is one reason I write and publish legal articles.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

We often review and comment on documents that our clients have prepared.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

We often coach clients who want to represent themselves. Sometimes, we encourage clients to take this approach when we sense that it is a matter that they can handle without paying fees to a law firm.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

The practice of law has allowed me to help many people, which is the reason that I wanted to be a lawyer.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I know what it is like to start at the bottom and work my way up, which is what many of our immigration clients face when they arrive in America. My wife and daughter and I have also been through the immigration process ourselves, so we are especially sensitive to the needs and concerns of those who are immigrating to America.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

Immigration law was a natural part of being a lawyer for me. It fits well with my background in business, and the combination enables me to provide better service for our business clients.

What do you like best about your career?

The single most rewarding part of my career is bringing families together through the immigration process.

Tell us about your law firm:

My wife, who was a business woman in China when we met, works with me at our law firm. Our clients love her because she is so attentive to their needs. We have other lawyers and legal assistants who help with our cases, but I stay personally involved with all of our immigration clients.

What are your strengths and style?

My writing skills and analytical skills have helped me excel both educationally and professionally. I listen closely to clients so that I can understand their problems and concerns, and then I work with them to develop a plan to help solve those issues.

Personal Interests:

I enjoy reading, writing, and mentoring my teenage Chinese daughter with her high school classes.

Free Initial Consultation?

For our immigration clients we offer a free initial consultation in order to learn about their needs and determine how we can help them.

Typical Retainer

On most immigration matters, we are able to quote a flat fee, and we work on a retainer basis off of that flat fee amount.

Understanding Fees
