Firm Focus and History

I graduated from Law School in 1985 and after I passed the bar examination I began my career in the Cook County State's Attorney's Office. I advanced through the office and settled into the Special Prosecutions Bureau with a concentration on narcotics and gangs. In 1996, I started my own practice with an emphasis on Criminal Law and Personal Injury.

My firm was established in 1996 with a concentration on trial work and civil and criminal litigation. My office handles all Criminal Cases including: Drunk Driving Cases, Hardship License Hearings, Suspended License, Drug Offenses, License Reinstatements, Secretary of State hearings, all Felonies and Misdemeanors, and Federal Case.

Previous Employment Summary

Cook County State's Attorney's Office and Private Practice.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I am more than happy to assist a client or prospective client about any area of law that I feel I am qualified to give advice about. I think everything in the world today in some way has a legal aspect to it and I am more than happy to help people understand any legal process. As they say, "Knowledge is Power."

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Again, I am more than happy to assist clients with any documents. However, if it involves the case I am working on with them, I will review and discuss our options and if motion has merit I will file and present to the court.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I am not available for this practice.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I was the first one in my family to graduate from college and attend law school. I was always the one who looked up to lawyers because they help people during the one of the most tragic times in their lives. I always wanted to help those who needed help and to make sure everyone gets a fair shake.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

Being a Former State's Attorney allows me to say that I have worked on both sides of the fence, so to speak, which gives me a unique insight into the judicial system. I also have been trained by some of the best lawyers in the City of Chicago. With over 24 years of experience, I believe I have a great perspective on how a case should be handled and how to make my clients happy, satisfied and proud.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I chose this area of law because it is an area that I have a deep interest in and you can help people in a very direct manner.

What do you like best about your career?

I like the independence and the ability to make a difference in people's lives. I love fighting for a cause and people that I believe in.

Tell us about your law firm:

I am a solo practitioner so I will be the attorney you are dealing with all the time. I also have a wonderful staff and a secretary who has a wealth of knowledge and can answer all your questions if I am not available and you need an immediate answer.

What are your strengths and style?

I have passion for my work and do not want to disappoint a client. I am also a very hard worker and many times you will catch me at my office after 7:00 p.m. working on some file.

Personal Interests:

I love to spend time with my family. My interests are sports and exercising.

Understanding Fees

Nolo's Licensing Check

Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the applicable bar associations upon joining the directory.

Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any bar association.
