Bankruptcy
I am knowledgeable in a variety of areas of law and have been approached to handle a broad array of legal issues that clients encounter in their day-to-day life. Accordingly, while I enjoy handling Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies, foreclosures, short sales and engaging in debt collection defense, I believe in being able to offer clients a solution to any legal problem. In order to do so, I keep myself current on many areas of law such as will preparation and credit repair. I also enjoy working with small businesses to facilitate their growth and success.

The focus of my practice is on consumer bankruptcy matters, foreclosures and debt collection defense/representation.
I started my career in business and securities law and transitioned into a bankruptcy focused practice in 2009.
I previously worked at the Nelson Law Firm, where I practiced corporate, securities and business law. Prior to that I work at the MTA Office of the Inspector General in the legal department and before that as a legal analyst and researcher for the Institute of Judicial Studies in New York.
I welcome clients that have taken the time to research their legal issue and educate themselves. Because such clients have done foundation work, this allows me to "dive right in" to their case and to propose personalized solutions to their problem.
Although I am willing to review documents prepared by clients, I discourage clients from doing so because it is usually not an economical approach to their case. The time necessary to properly review and correct such prepared documents can lead to an unproductive use of both the client's time and my time and be a longer process that if I had simply prepared the documents myself.
This is not the nature of my practice because I believe that I can only best serve my clients when I am fully involved in their case.
I decided to be a lawyer because I enjoy engaging in problem solving and finding unique solutions to a client's issues. In general, I enjoy helping people resolve their problems.
My broad legal background in several practice areas has made me a better lawyer because I can help clients that come to me with cases that touch on more than one area of law.
Bankruptcy law and its related issues have simply interested me more than any other practice area.
The variety of cases I see and the fact that it allows me to help people with real problems.
I am a solo practitioner, so all of my clients deal directly with me. I enjoy direct client communication and make an effort to answer all my phone calls and emails promptly.
My style is interpersonal. I strive to give personalized attention to clients and find the best solutions to their problems. For me, this includes being frank about whether or not they really need my legal services for their issue and guiding them in the right direction when I know something falls outside of my practice. I also appreciate clients who value communication and stay on top of their responsibilities in the legal process.
It is very important to me to do pro bono work and I regularly participate in volunteer attorney organizations. I also enjoy traveling when I have the time and am an avid reader and writer.
