Currie Kendall focuses on Business, Bankruptcy, Real Estate, Estate Planning and Probate, Civil Litigation, Intellectual Property Law, Appellate Law, Education Law, Employment Law, Family Law, Financial Institution Law, Health Care Law, Municipal Law, Nonprofit Organizations, Real Estate Law, and Tax Law.
Currie Kendall has been providing legal services since 1905 to Michigan as well as clients located in other states.
Prior to coming to Currie Kendall, I spent over 40 years in corporate practice in almost all areas of Intellectual Property Law as well as Litigation and Contract Law relating thereto.
I believe it is good practice for clients to become somewhat familiar with the legal issues they are involved in, but to seek qualified legal counsel. Self-education enables them to ask better questions and also to understand the advice of legal counsel.
I have no problem reviewing documents and, in fact, in many patent application preparations, it's critical that the inventors provide written descriptions of their inventions.
I am willing to discuss legal issues, but I feel it is a mistake for them to represent themselves, just as it is for a patient to diagnose and medicate themselves.
It's a way to serve and help others while making a living doing something that I love to do.
Study, study, read, read, interact with many people in all walks of life, listen, listen.
Love technical things, love the law. Intellectual Property Law is a perfect match of my skills and likes.
Being of service to others, generating assets in the form of intellectual property that can benefit clients' businesses.
I am fortunate to work with skilled attorneys in legal areas different than mine. They can add insights to issues. The legal assistants and paralegals work closely with the attorneys to achieve common goals.
I am good listener, teacher, and team player. I prefer settlement over litigation because rarely does either side of litigation gain everything they wish and there are hidden costs even to the winner. Having said that, I am a good litigator if necessary.
Family first, Tae Kwon Do (5 Dan), and reading.

Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any bar association.
