Client had a $20 million estate with the main asset being a corporation throwing off good dividends. His estate was going to be $30 million in less than 5 years and then grow from there. At a 50% rate his estate tax was going to be about $15 million. We were able to move all of the stock to a trust which listed the client as the primary beneficiary. The assets in the trust were out of his estate for estate tax purposes. The $15 million in estate taxes were saved!
Client had valuable land he wanted to protect. We moved the land into a partnership and set up the ownership for creditor protection. The client was forced to default on other loans from the business cycle. The land in the partnership was protected and the client used that land to start over. The client has now recovered and is doing well.

We are focused on the client. We listen and learn what the client wants to do and guide the client to the solutions.
I have been in this practice since 1986. In 2006, we opened the doors of our new location beside the sunny banks of the Pearl River. Many of our clients have been with us for over 20 years.
After a brief practice time in Dallas, Texas, I decided to come back home and develop an estate planning practice in Mississippi. I was fortunate to join the premier tax and estate planning firm as that time. I joined a larger firm to develop an estate planning practice section which was accomplished. After that, I decided that an estate planning practice is best practiced in a small office setting.
The better educated a client, the better the plan and the happier the client. We encourage our clients to bring trusted family members and friends to the meetings. We want each client to understand the plan design and why the plan is so designed.
We have found that client prepared documents raise so many questions, it is easier for the client to tell us the goals and let us do the drafting. This is like trying to cut your own hair and then going to a hairdresser to fix it.
We want the client to handle as many matters as the client can handle and divide up tasks. When we have such an engaged client, we feel the teamwork.
To use my God given talent of problem solving to help clients.
From high school, I wanted to be an attorney. From law school, I wanted to be a tax lawyer. From tax school, I wanted to be an estate planning attorney. I have a desire to learn about my specialty so I can have the solution to the problem. This desire to learn has resulted in many success stories in the lives of my clients, which is a continual encouragement to learn.
My practice area is large enough to require continual education but defined enough to be able to know what is needed to properly serve the client. I love to offer solutions which take the entire situation into account.
The look on a client's face walking out of my office after we have delivered a solution to a problem the client has been wrestling with for years.
We want our clients to know at least two persons in the firm well and feel comfortable when walking into the office. We encourage this by having the initial contact with our client service representative. Then our attorney delivers the plan of action and gets to know our client well also. Our clients love us taking the additional time to get to know them as these are decisions that affect all of the property of the client and future generations.
Listening to the client to deliver what the client wants and not fit the client into a predetermined box.
