Example Cases

One of the greatest things about representing debtors in bankruptcy, is variety. Greater, however, is the sense of accomplishment when know you've made a difference in a person's life. Some of the things we routinely hear are, "I'm starting to sleep better," or, "I don't have to check the phone like I used to," or, "we've stopped looking out our window for the process server."

The most obvious reward results when we successfully stop a foreclosure, prevent a wage garnishment, keep the lights on, or protect the car from repossession.

Just recently, we've helped two families keep the power on by filing before the shutoff date. We've also helped clients stop wage garnishments from medical bill collection lawsuits.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

The Lund Law Office encourages clients to become informed about the bankruptcy process. Each case brings its own complexities, and the more we all know, the more efficiently we can come to the right result. Knowledge, especially of all the facts, is indeed power when it comes to processing a bankruptcy filing.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

We rely on documents prepared by our clients as a crucial source for understanding their situation. However, all legal documentation to be filed with the bankruptcy court will be reviewed and approved by counsel. Other areas of the law are more forgiving in this regard and you should contact us if you are hoping to file your own legal paperwork in areas different than bankruptcy.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Lund Law Office, SC is a full representation law firm.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I chose the legal profession because of the challenge and opportunity to serve people. The Lund Law Office is a family business, and both of our respective families had their own family businesses. I've noticed that most family businesses enjoy the benefit of working closely with one another and having the freedom to define their approach to serving clients.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I've been watching and doing hard work since I was high enough to reach a cash register. My family bakery taught me a lot about business, and even more about the customers. I've had exposure to thousands of different people, from different walks of life, all with the aim of providing customer satisfaction and I'm happy to control my own approach to practicing law along those same goals.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I was drawn to bankruptcy because I can relate with clients facing tough situations. Growing up, I was exposed to people who made it through real tough times, and always wanted to put myself in a position where I could help hard working families with tough decisions. My favorite part of the job is passing along the optimism that I learned through others who have been where you might be right now. There is always light at the end of every tunnel.

What do you like best about your career?

I love watching the stress melt away from my clients when they see bankruptcy can help them. Each file is a chance to help somebody reinvent their future and it feels great to show others the power of moving forward past bankruptcy. I take the time to advise clients on how to avoid future financial stress. We don't want repeat customers.

Tell us about your law firm:

Lund Law Office, SC is a small boutique law firm located in Wausau, Wisconsin within sight of Marathon Park. We have one attorney and a growing staff. You will work directly with an attorney throughout your bankruptcy case and will also have a supportive staff to guide you throughout the bankruptcy process.

What are your strengths and style?

My style is to paint the 'big picture' and find the best possible solution for each client. I prefer direct, open communication and am diligent about responding quickly to client questions and concerns. I try to lighten the mood, but maintain a professional, effective approach to your case.

Personal Interests:

If there is one thing I've learned so far in the bankruptcy profession: money and all its worries are never worth the fuss in the long run. I enjoy my family, my dogs, my church, my hobbies, writing, and following my favorite professional sports teams. Balancing health, fitness, diet and finding enough sleep at the end of it all is a challenge I think we all face, and like most folks, I'm a work in progress.
