Continuing Education
I frequently lecture at Bankruptcy Seminars on Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 and I attend continuing legal education courses in the areas of Bankruptcy, Personal Injury, Social Security and Estate Planning. I also attend Bar Association Bankruptcy Committee Meetings on a regular basis. Annually, I attend the two day continuing education offered by the Kentucky Bar Association with topics that range from Family Law, Estate Planning, Personal Injury, to Bankruptcy. I always exceed the required number of continuing education hours for both Ohio and Kentucky.
Example Cases
I have handled auto accident cases that involved the death of an individual and accidents where my clients suffered serious injuries. I have represented clients in medical malpractice cases, one of which involved the death of a young mother who had two minor children. This case involved the Probate of the deceased mother's estate as well as protracted negotiations with the Hospital to secure a multi-million structured settlement for the children. In addition, I represent clients that are facing financial difficulties and need to file a Chapter 7 or 13 Bankruptcy. Chapter 13 is a bill consolidation that allows the client to keep their home while paying back several months of mortgage payments through the plan and paying back pennies on the dollar to their creditors.
Also, I have helped the small business clients who needed a fresh start in their business. I have helped many thousands of our clients eliminate millions of dollars in debts, and I have also helped building an affordable financial plan for their future.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
A well-informed client is better served in helping themselves and in assisting me in my representation of their case. I think clients should attempt to educate themselves, which in turn enables them to ask the right questions, understand the process and participate in the successful outcome of their legal matter. I fully support clients researching the area of the law that affects them so that they can assist in their case and are better informed to ask the right questions concerning their legal matter.
Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?
I am not willing to review legal documents that are prepared by a non-attorney. I am, however, standing ready to receive your own paperwork/proposal of what you want to accomplish and any documents relating to your cause.
Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
I will not coach a client to represent themselves and will not assist a person to practice law without a license.
Why did you decide to be a lawyer?
I wanted a career where I could combine helping people with being rewarded for my hard work. I will always diligently represent my client and will always prescribe to do "WHAT IS BEST FOR MY CLIENT." My clients and their causes are always my priority.
What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?
My experience as a competitive athlete at the intercollegiate level taught me that discipline and dedication to my work is necessary to achieving my goals. My work experience has made me realize that there is no substitute for conscientious hard work to get the job done which ultimately helps my clients. I want to win in the courtroom the same way I played and won as an athlete.
Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?
My primary areas of practice are Bankruptcy and Personal Injury. I have come to the realization that I have happy clients at the conclusion of handling matters that involve solving their financial difficulties in Bankruptcy and re-organizations or in getting them compensation for personal injuries that they have suffered in various accidents.
What do you like best about your career?
Relieving a client's stress in handling their legal matter. Clients are truly grateful for the help and guidance that they are provided in the course of representation.
Tell us about your law firm:
I started as a solo practitioner and now have three other associates that work for the firm. All three associates have a wealth of legal knowledge, are eager, willing and anxious to work hard for the clients, and are conscientious in serving the needs of the clients. The firm is a "result oriented" group of people. My paralegal, Blake, has been with the firm for 14 years; she is efficient and is a source of information and at the same time is able to be sensitive to the client's needs. We pride ourselves in putting the clients first and handling matters in a timely manner.
What are your strengths and style?
My strengths include traditional values: reliability, integrity, respect, trust and loyalty. When a client entrusts me with their legal needs, I honor their trust with courtesy and a commitment to personal responsive attention. I distinguish myself from other attorneys with unmatched client service. I deliver practical result-oriented service with a "no-nonsense" approach to solving disputes with an aggressive, yet considerate, courtroom posture.
I protect my clients' rights by working hard to get answers and desired results. When I accept a client, I work on their case the same way I would my own. I do whatever it takes to get the job done to the best of my ability, including staying up late at night and working weekends.
My style in the office is courteous and relaxed. In court, I maintain a professional and considerate demeanor while aggressively and zealously advocating for my client.
Personal Interests:
My family is my most important asset and my biggest personal accomplishment. My husband and I have four children, three of which are in college. One of them is playing on the Division I intercollegiate tennis team. My youngest son is a junior in high school. We spend a lot of time together as a family. I love taking walks, watching tennis matches and movies with my husband.
