New Hampshire Bar Association.
I attend continuing legal education seminars on the topics of social security disability/SSI law, disability law, family law, real estate, and other areas of general practice.
I am the author of a law journal article published in the March, 2001 issue of the New Hampshire Bar Journal on the Americans with Disabilities Act.
I represented a younger client with fibromyalgia who had an extensive work history of consisting of numerous short term jobs before she had applied for social security disability insurance benefits. Using her work history and medical records, I was able to argue and demonstrate that her work was not "substantial gainful activity" under the Social Security Administration rules and regulations. My client's failed work attempts demonstrated that she was unable to work in wide variety of jobs and industries. I was successfully able to use her work history to support her medical evidence and won this appeal. My client now receives social security disability insurance benefits.

Spiller Law Firm, PLLC was founded by me in November, 2002. Spiller Law Firm, PLLC represents clients seeking social security disability and supplemental security income benefits before the Social Security Administration. I also represent clients with family law and child guardianship matters in family division and probate courts in New Hampshire. Many of these family law clients are disabled or receive social security benefits.
I was admitted to the New Hampshire Bar in October 2001 after graduating from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 2001. I was also admitted to practice in federal court at the United States District Court, District of New Hampshire in October 2001.
I have been successfully representing claimants before the Social Security Administration since I opened my office. I have also successfully represented clients in several complex federal civil litigation cases involving employment discrimination claims including the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Rehabilitation Act.
Previously, I worked for West Publishing, one of the two largest legal publishers in the United States, editing publications and writing case summaries for twelve legal publications and books including the Social Security Reporting Service.
Before attending law school, I enjoyed a successful career in the publishing field including five years as the senior technical writing manager for a software company.
Franklin Pierce Law Center's Intellectual Property Summer Institute in 1999 and 2000.
I encourage clients to educate themselves on legal issues involved in their cases.
I welcome documents prepared by clients. I encourage my clients to send me papers, medical records and such regarding their case.
Some claimants for Social Security benefits are sometimes able to present their own claim and achieve a certain level of success, however, when it comes to the hearing and appeals level, a claimant for benefits should have a lawyer. Sadly, I have met with many claimants over the years who have waited too long to consult a lawyer and who fail to realize that the Social Security Administration is very serious about its deadlines. These situations are very heartbreaking and I always encourage claimants to at least schedule one meeting with a lawyer after receiving an adverse decision from the Social Security Administration so that they can be fully informed about the deadlines they need to make if they want to appeal on their own.
I first became involved in Social Security Disability (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) claims while a student at Franklin Pierce Law Center Civil Practice Clinic in 1998. I have been successfully representing claimants before the Social Security Administration since opening her own practice in 2002.
I am uniquely qualified to understand the issues and difficulties that individuals who are disabled face as I have faced and overcome multiple disabilities since birth. My own understanding of the daily challenges faced by individuals with disabilities help me advocate for my clients with a better understanding.
Many of my family law clients also have disabilities as well and frequently receive Social Security Disability or SSI. My experience before the Social Security Administration is an asset in handling such family law matters.
I enjoyed the work that I did at the Franklin Pierce Law Center clinic.
I like being able to help my clients. I like being a voice for them.
I am a solo practitioner.
My strength is that I am a determined advocate for my clients. I am always open to talking with my clients and am committed to helping them.
I enjoy spending time with my family.
By appointment. Evening and Saturday appointments available upon request.
Yes
I represent claimants seeking to obtain new social security disability insurance or supplemental security income benefits on a contingency fee basis. If a client wins his/her case, a percentage (25%) of past due benefits is withheld by the Social Security Administration and is paid. Presently the Social Security Administration limits the contingency fee to 25% of the past due benefits but no more than $6,000. This limit may be raised at any time by the Social Security Administration. There are no legal fees if benefits are denied.
For claimants seeking assistance with existing benefits (such as the termination of benefits or overpayment cases), I charge an hourly rate.
I offer a free consultation.
