Firm Focus and History

Levin & Zeiger, LLP, is the premier criminal defense law firm in the Philadelphia area serving all of Pennsylvania. We fight for our clients in both state and federal court in Pennsylvania every day. We have prepared thousands of cases for our clients with exceptional results.

We opened in January of 2006 and focus primarily on criminal defense in Eastern Pennsylvania, but have represented people throughout the state. Our cases include, but are not limited to, possession with the intent to delivery and manufacture drugs, homicide, rape, and white collar crimes. In addition, we do accept certain Civil Rights cases where we feel an injustice has occurred. While we are particular in those cases we choose to handle, we handle Police Brutality and Prisoner Abuse cases.

Activities and Awards

2008 Super Lawyer in Philadelphia Magazine based solely on peer review.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

My clients who understand the legal issues surrounding their cases are my best clients. I represent all of my clients the "right way." My clients who truly understand the law are always happy with my work because if they understand the law, they know they have received the best possible legal representation.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

While I might be willing to give some advice to clients who have prepared their own documents, my advice would always be to have a lawyer review and file those documents.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

My advice would be that you not represent yourself in any matter where your liberty is at risk or a high dollar amount is in controversy. Oftentimes people can represent themselves in minor cases, but the more serious cases truly require an attorney.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I decided to become a lawyer to ensure that people have a voice on their side. Helping people throughout the process to feel safe and secure and to feel as though they are in the driver's seat has always been my goal.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I have handled thousands of criminal cases. I have personally handled over one thousand DUI (Driving Under the Influence) cases. The sheer volume of my criminal cases has provided me with the tremendous experience that makes me success in all of my cases.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I chose criminal law because I am most offended by the way justice is often one side. Often our society believes the words of complainants simply because we are told to believe alleged victims. What about the rights of those falsely accused? The accused are the underdogs of our system, and I chose to be a criminal defense attorney to level the playing field and ensure the underdogs have equal representation.

What do you like best about your career?

The best part of my career is when I win a case before a live jury. There is no better experience then vindicating your client with a jury trial and hearing the best two words in the English language, "NOT GUILTY."

Tell us about your law firm:

At Levin & Zeiger LLP, Gabriel Levin and I are both available 24 hours a day for our clients and both represent our clients in all of their criminal needs by aggressively attacking our opponents in court. In addition to our criminal defense and civil rights practice, we also do a great deal of work in record clearing through expungements and pardons. From drug crimes to appeals, we fight for our clients at every level of our representation.

What are your strengths and style?

I take the protection of individuals' rights very seriously and I am passionate about jury trials. Whether the case is criminal and someone's freedom is on the line, or I am suing the city for Police Brutality, my aggressiveness shows and I never give up.

Personal Interests:

I am an avid Phillies phan. My family has a full season ticket plan and we spend time together at the ball park watching the Phillies.
