Benson Law Firm focuses on consumer bankruptcies, loan modifications, and mortgage foreclosures. We file both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases, depending on our client?s goals and financial structure.

Benson Law Firm was established in 2004 after I had spent 12 years in legal publishing management covering bankruptcy case law and litigation practice. Since that time, Benson Law Firm has helped numerous clients make a fresh start through bankruptcy or modifying existing debt.

I am supportive of clients who seek greater understanding of their legal rights, but do not require clients to know the law.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I am a strong believer in justice, fairness and the rule of law.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I was forced into bankruptcy myself as a result of a bitter divorce. So I have a personal connection with all my clients.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I chose bankruptcy to help people get a fresh start in life. I believe it is bankruptcy law that is a necessary component to a strong and vibrant economy.

What do you like best about your career?

I like my clients. They?re good people in a tough spot.

Tell us about your law firm:

I am a solo practitioner, so all of my clients deal directly with me. I have a wonderful assistant, Kim, who is very generous and helpful.

What are your strengths and style?

I enjoy giving personal attention to clients and zealously advocating on their behalf. I am easy to talk to and have a calming effect on clients under a great deal of stress.

Personal Interests:

When I am not in the office, I like spending time with my two children, working in the yard, watching and playing sports, and visiting with family.

Fixed-Price Services and Fees

Chapter 7 - $1,000 plus $299 court fees ($900 for Nolo clients).
Chapter 13 - $800 down (rest in plan) plus $279 court fees ($700 down for Nolo clients).

Nolo's Licensing Check

Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the applicable bar associations upon joining the directory.

Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any bar association.
