The firm focuses on defending all criminal charges throughout the state of Texas with an emphasis on DWI, drug defense, and theft charges.
I began practicing criminal defense and immigration law in Houston, Texas, after working with attorney Jeff Senter in Austin, Texas and doing an internship with the Travis County Juvenile Public Defenders Office.
The more education the client has the better.
I am willing to review all documents prepared by my clients and encourage clients to produce as much as possible to help their cases.
I do not coach clients that want to represent themselves. When an attorney gives legal advice, he is essentially representing the client.
My father was an attorney and I knew that I wanted to be a criminal defense attorney at a very young age. I grew up watching Perry Mason, and I believe in challenging the authority of the government.
My father was a refuge in World War II and this made me appreciate what a tyrannical government can do to people. I am a native Houstonian and this helps me because I am intimately familiar with Houston and the surrounding area. I have handled more than 4,000 criminal cases and I feel that I have gleaned a great deal of wisdom from these cases.
I am interested in people. Criminal Law and immigration gives me the opportunity to interact with all kinds of people.
I enjoy helping people, and I enjoy helping to produce an outcome for them that they might not have received with someone else.
My law firm consists of myself, Eric Benavides, Mayra Cavazos, and Donne Breston. We all interact with you. However, only Eric Benavides and I will give you legal advice.
I am very honest. Sometimes, I tell people what they do not want to hear but need to hear. I do not sugar coat information in order to convince people to hire me.
I enjoy working out, playing golf, and spending time with my family.

I generally do not have fixed prices, but some cases require the same services and I do charge everyone the same fee. Most cases have different issues and so the fees vary.
I do not charge by the hour.
I do give a free consultation for the amount of time I believe is necessary to determine the legal problem and determine how much to charge for the case.
It varies based on the case.
Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the applicable bar associations upon joining the directory.
Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any bar association.
