State Bar of California, Los Angeles Bar Association, and Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

Continuing Education

I always exceed the required continuing legal education hours (CLE) by actively participating in Los Angeles, California personal injury associations and seminars. By participating in these seminars, I am able to keep up to date on changes in the law as well as recent personal injury jury decisions and settlements.

Example Cases

One of my most memorable cases was a case where another attorney declined to represent the auto accident victim because the insurance company said that they would not compensate her for her serious injuries. I, in turn, took her case, and was able to settle for the maximum insurance policy because of my diligent research and litigation tactics.

Firm Focus and History

Our Southern California personal injury firm represents those clients who have been seriously injured in all types of accidents including: car accidents; motorcycle crashes; trucking rollovers; medical malpractice; brain injury; birth injuries; elder abuse & nursing home negligence; amusement park accidents; construction injury accidents; premises liability; and dog bite attacks.

I started my own personal injury firm in 1992 when I determined that clients were not receiving the proper counseling and legal representation that they deserved in the Los Angeles area. Since opening up my firm, our personal injury lawyers, who combined have over 90 years experience in representing clients, have handled over 10,000 personal injury cases and have recovered over $60 MILLION DOLLARS in settlements and jury verdicts.

Previous Employment Summary

I started working at Spiegel, Vitabile & Yochelson as a litigation attorney after successfully passing the California bar on his first attempt. I then started my own firm, the Law Offices of Lee Arter on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, California.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

While it is encouraged for clients to educate themselves on potential legal issues which may arise in their case, they should obtain information from a reliable, accurate and current source for their research to be valuable, correct and useful. Generally, such research enables the client to ask more questions about their case and provide more valuable information while discussing their case, so I find it to be very useful. Similarly, if a client is unaware of any of the legal aspects of their claim, I am able to guide them through the process and present them with their legal options, so my clients need not educate themselves prior to meeting with me.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Most documents prepared by clients are a good educational tool for them to understand the legal requirements in proving their case. I am also willing to review these documents as it often offers new insight into the events and facts of their case. These documents are also very often used as a jumping-block in the preparation of the final legal documents which are prepared by my law firm. My clients should not use their valuable time preparing these documents. Instead, they should contact my office immediately after their accident so we may begin discussing available options at recovering compensation for your injuries.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I generally do not coach clients with respect to their personal injury cases.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I became a lawyer to diligently represent those in need to seek recovery for their personal injuries.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

Having worked on over 10,000 personal injury cases, I have represented clients in various types of personal injury accidents which has allowed me to become a better attorney in representing you in your case.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I decided to focus on personal injury because it is one of the few areas of the law in which I can assist those in need to obtain the compensation they so rightly deserve.

What do you like best about your career?

The day the juries come back with their favorable jury verdict or a favorable settlement, as well as seeing the overwhelming joy on my clients’ faces when we win their case.
