Firm Focus and History

Our firm helps people with important issues they may have to face including bankruptcies, workouts, foreclosure defense, real estate closings, estate planning, probate administration, business formation, and divorce.

I formed my own law firm in 1985, after having worked with a large firm out of Columbia, SC for 12 years. Since then, the firm has added attorneys and staff as needed to meet our clients' needs. Currently, in addition to me, we have two associate attorneys, (Nancy Gryniewski and Jay Anderson), five paralegals, and three support staff.

Previous Employment Summary

In law school at the University of South Carolina, I worked as a law clerk with McKay, Sherrill, Walker and Townsend in Columbia, SC. After graduation in 1973, I joined the firm as an associate attorney, became a partner in 1978, moved to Myrtle Beach, SC to run a branch office, and was with that firm until 1985 when I formed my own firm in Myrtle Beach, SC. I now have a main office in Myrtle Beach, with branch offices in Pawleys Island and Little River, SC, and Calabash, NC. Most client work is done in our main office in Myrtle Beach.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I have several main areas of practice in addition to bankruptcy: elder law, estate planning, probate, real estate and business transactions. I chose each of them for the same reasons -- I liked the work and was good at it, and there was a need to help people.
