My firm focuses on family law, including divorce and custody. My law practice and my familiarity and knowledge of this field is undisturbed by other areas of practice.
My firm was established shortly after I was licensed to practice law.
I have a varied employment past, including teaching high school in the Chicago Public School system and working as a purchasing manager for companies that did work for world-class companies.
I have 50 hours of Pro Bono work in DuPage County in 2005 to 2006.
I welcome those clients who have educated themselves in the law and who have met with other attorneys. Being comfortable with the attorney they hire is many times overlooked.
I routinely offer free consultation with clients and will review their self-prepared documents, while advising them of the possible benefits of incorporating their ideas in an alternate document.
I am willing to meet with a client who wants to represent themselves on an hourly basis at an hourly rate. I also conduct divorce consultations with both spouses. However, with both options, professional ethics controls (i.e.: I will not meet with a pro se party on an ongoing basis and I cannot represent either spouse once I meet with, and counsel, both of them).
I decided to be a lawyer at a young age, after observing and experiencing what my mother went through during her divorce process. I believe I can, and do, make the process less stressful for my clients.
My broad-based education, my outstanding performance in school, the fact that my parents’ divorce had a direct impact on me and the fact that I’ve been a hard worker since age 12 make me a better lawyer for my clients. I also was a very tough negotiator as a purchasing manager.
Having grown up as a product of divorced parents, I have the need to try to help clients navigate the court system and the emotions better than my parents.
The best thing about my career is that I can use my education to offer clients different methods to help them with an optimal result.
As a solo practitioner, all clients deal and meet directly with me, versus a figure-head attorney or partner that is unreachable after an initial meeting.
My strengths include prompt attention to client needs, thoroughness, professionalism but firmness with opposing attorneys, and an appreciation for the value of a dollar in this economy.
I am an avid musician and have owned Chihuahuas my entire life. I also enjoy sports, both playing and watching.
