Example Cases

1. In August of 2008 I was retained to represent the mother in a case that had begun in August of 2005. I was retained just two months prior to trial to take this very difficult custody case to trial. It involved allegations of sexual abuse. The children had had no contact with one of the parents for a several years prior to the trial. I focused on representing my client as well as what was in the best interest of the children as required by Massachusetts custody laws. Custody cases are difficult and painful. I am patient and aggressive, which is what is needed in an attorney in these matters.

2. I represented a woman in a complaint for modification seeking to reduce her alimony obligation for her former husband. My client was a real estate broker and in a position where her income had been reduced as a result of economic conditions. I was able to show that her income had been cut in half and she was successful in getting a fifty percent reduction in her alimony obligation.

3. I represented a successful doctor. The parties however had substantial debt. They had three children. The wife was represented by an attorney who was very difficult and unreasonable and much more interested in generating attorneys fees than in resolving the case. We went through extensive discovery and negotiations. The wife fired the first attorney and hired someone more realistic and reasonable. With my influence we obtained a seasoned conciliator and after nine hours of mediation were able to settle the case. This is a matter that would have taken four to six days to try at a cost of three times the mediation.
