CA, Dec 1989
Bar Number: 144978
U.S. Bankruptcy Court (California) and Superior Court (California).
I'm a member of the California Bar, Contra Costa County Bar Association, and National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
I attend continuing legal education seminars in Bankruptcy and Family Law.
I've been helping people and families in trouble since 1989. This assistance encompasses many hundreds of cases in the areas of injury law, divorce, civil cases, and bankruptcy. It's a sad sign of the times that personal bankruptcies now occupy most of my time and energy.

My firm prides itself in the personal service we provide to our clients. I give individual attention, discretion and respect to each client when assisting them to solve their financial problems.
My current firm was established in 2001, after moving from Southern California.
I served as Deputy District Attorney for Riverside County, and then moved to a national insurance defense firm. In 1995, Dowe, Quail & Barnes was launched as a consumer firm where I was the managing partner.
I was recognized as Judge Pro Tem and mediator for San Bernardino County. I have accepted pro bono assignments in Northern California for Bay Area Legal Aid and the Law Center.
In my opinion, the more clients know about their particular issues, the easier it is to represent them. Better informed clients are more satisfied clients.
If the client appears to have gone to the trouble to understand the processes involved, I'm delighted to review his documents.
I'm happy to act as coach for clients in pro per. This is a normal part of my family law practice. Bankruptcy is a natural extension of coaching service.
While a registered nurse, I was called to care for a non-English speaking patient whose tongue had been surgically removed through a hospital error. He was the wrong patient, but was unable to make himself understood. I was compelled to help people is similar circumstances to recover damages. Three years later I was a lawyer.
Being a registered nurse has given me the experience and capacity to view my clients' situations in a unique light—with understanding and compassion for those who are suffering.
My bankruptcy and family law practice allows me to help clients deal with the most difficult and stressful times in their lives.
I get a great sense of satisfaction knowing I've helped my clients create a new beginning. Their gratitude is highly rewarding.
I'm a solo practitioner, so I meet with every client personally. I have an assistant who serves as office manager and receptionist. He is respectful and smart and will provide you with great customer service.
I'm compassionate, hands-on and detail-oriented. I'm caring and focused upon getting your work done professionally and efficiently.
