I regularly exceed the required number of continuing education hours by attending both local and national immigration law conferences. I also speak on immigration law issues at conferences throughout the year.
My writings have been published in many print and online magazines and newspapers, including State Bar publications, Chamber of Commerce magazines, and industry specific publications dealing with employment and other immigration issues.
My client had applied for citizenship and as part of the process, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services alleged that he was deportable for committing a crime several years earlier. We fought the case all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, which ruled in our favor.

My clients hire me to help with all immigration related cases. Whether deportation, K1 fiancé visas, green cards, citizenship, asylum, or work visas such as H1B, H-1B, L-1, I have been working for my clients in the immigration law field for several years.
After working in immigration law for several years, I created this firm with my law partner, Joyce Cundy, in Bloomington, MN. I practice immigration law exclusively and Ms. Cundy works with divorce clients. Joyce has over 25 years of divorce and family law experience.
Before creating my own firm, I was lead immigration attorney at one of the 50 largest law firms in Minnesota.
Voted Super Lawyer by Minnesota Law and Politics Magazine.
I am a strong believer in educating yourself about the immigration laws and regulations. This is why I continually post immigration articles on my web site addressing everything from deportation, citizenship and work visas, to K1 fiancé, green card and citizenship applications.
I have been preparing immigration documents for over ten years and I don't recommend that clients prepare them themselves. Many of my deportation clients got into trouble by filing applications with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services that should not have been filed. Our fees are very reasonable and considering the important issues at stake, it is always recommended that people use an attorney when dealing with the immigration service.
Coaching would be on an hourly basis at a rate of $220 per hour.
I've had an interest in the law ever since I can remember. So, when I finished my undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota and law school seemed to be a realistic option, I pursued the opportunity.
As a business owner and immigrant myself, I sympathize with both the immigrants' personal plights, as well as employer issues in finding qualified workers.
I worked as a law clerk in law school with a firm that handled immigration cases. I also worked in the immigration clinic in law school. After graduating, there were firms looking for someone with experience with immigration cases, so I continued in the immigration field. As time passed, I learned that there are relatively few attorneys who practice exclusively in the area of immigration law, and even fewer who do it well. The success I received for my clients lead to more clients, which led to the creation of my current firm.
I like being able to help people fix problems. It is especially rewarding when someone comes to me feeling defeated by the system and to hear that I can help them!
In addition to my immigration law work, we have two very fine and experienced divorce and family law attorneys. We also have an attorney working with businesses to collect debts. The lawyers at our office are not generalists; we focus on our special areas of law so that we can be the best attorneys our clients will ever have.
I am sympathetic to my clients' causes and relentless in seeking justice for them. Whether it is a work visa that is wrongly denied, or deportation proceedings wrongly initiated by the government, I want to help.
I enjoy traveling, but even when I am out of the office, which is very rare, I am always available to my clients, thanks to modern technology. My family is, of course, number one in my life and I think this translates into me being a better lawyer for my clients. It helps me see beyond the law and into the real life effects that the law has on people.
