What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Education in any respect is never a bad thing. An informed client is one with whom discussions may be very trustful and helpful to their case. It is important to remember that there are many sources of information about law, especially now with websites, so my job is to provide sound experienced advice.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I encourage clients to write down any questions or concerns so that all are addressed. I carefully advise clients regarding what types of writings, sometimes considered evidence, should or should not be created so that their best interests are represented.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

The choice to hire a lawyer is an individual decision. I provide clients with a free consultation, listening to their case and their concerns. I give them my strategy for handling the case and explain how my experience with the court system and with their particular type of legal issue will help them to successfully resolve the matter.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I wanted a career where I could continue to learn, keep fresh, and be challenged. I also wanted to use my education and talent to help people, changing the world on case at a time. Being an attorney allows me counsel people facing their own personal challenges and provides me with a rewarding career.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

There is perhaps no better education or training for a courtroom trial attorney than being a prosecutor. My ten years as a prosecutor and six in private practices handling criminal defense and family cases well equip me to handle your case. I keep current on changes in the law, attending classes and reading daily updates on new cases.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

As a law student, I liked the excitement of litigation and trial work. I was drawn to criminal and family law, two areas of law which have a great impact upon people's everyday lives. I saw the opportunity to use my education to help people through these difficult situations.

What do you like best about your career?

At the end of the day, having provided legal counsel to my clients I feel I have accomplished what I set out to do years ago when I went to law school. The added benefit is that the law is ever changing, so that, as a career, it remains challenging and rewarding.

Tell us about your law firm:

The team of attorneys and staff at Sris, P.C. work together to provide a "client first" "family lawyer" service. The knowledgeable staff will take your information and immediately set you up to speak with me. Whenever you call the firm, you can rest assured the staff can readily access your information to help you.

What are your strengths and style?

My education and commitment to providing the best legal advice to assist the client, combined with my experience and my aggressive, tenacious style is my strength.

Personal Interests:

My genuine interest in the law draws me to the law in my personal life. I find myself watching court shows CNN cases, Law and Order, and other crime and court shows. I spend quality time with my family. I am also an avid gardener.
