We focus on defending families and individuals against collection agencies, bill collectors, banks, and credit card companies. Our goal is to help you achieve a financial fresh start.
Attorney Carter founded his own law firm in 2008 when it became evident that consumers needed additional help protecting their homes and other property from big businesses that were preying on consumers.
Attorney Carter has over 30 years of work history focused on helping individuals and families. He has worked in emergency services, banking, tax and financial services, federal government, and the insurance industry.
• Recently recognized by the Connecticut Fair Housing Alliance for outstanding work in the area of home foreclosure defense.
• National Moot Court award for outstanding oral advocacy in the area of Federal Income Tax.
• Numerous law school awards for trial techniques, community service, and appellate advocacy.
Clients who have taken the time to educate themselves about their legal options are in a position to make better decisions and better understand the value of my services.
Clients who elect to use my services do not typically need to prepare legal documents. Unfortunately, I am not able to assist self-represented parties in bankruptcy due to court requirements that I perform the appropriate level of due diligence to fully understand the clients financial position.
I am not currently positioned to offer this type of assistance.
I decided to become a lawyer after working many years in big business and seeing that there was a tremendous need for someone willing to stand up for hard working consumers who have fallen on tough financial times.
As a parent and as someone who has a lifelong history of working to provide for my family, I understand the financial challenges faced by today's working families. I have always been most satisfied in the roles that provide me the opportunity to help others.
Consumer finance law provides me with the best opportunity to help families on an individual basis and to see the positive results of my efforts.
The biggest reward for me is seeing my clients going about their lives after helping to achieve a positive outcome for them and their families. Nothing is more rewarding than being invited to the home of one of my clients, especially when the home is the same one that was about to be taken from them by the bank a few months earlier.
I am a solo practitioner and have a two person law firm. My assistant Dottie understands my commitment to our clients and treats all clients with the dignity and respect they deserve.
I like working with people. I take a hands-on approach to my representation and meet personally with each of my clients.
I like spending time with my wife and children, coaching their sports teams and watching them grow. I also work to have a positive impact in our community as we all benefit as each individual benefits.
