Prior to founding Boates & Crump in 2002, I worked at a small general practice firm in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During that practice I represented many individual and business clients and also served as a City Attorney, handling civil matters and prosecution for a suburb of Minneapolis.
At Boates & Crump we take great pride in the work we have done for local non-profit groups. I have assisted many non-profits form and achieve tax exempt status on a pro bono basis. I also continue to provide counsel for these companies pro bono.
I am also personally involved in charitable activities. I am the previous president of the local Rotary Club, am involved in my church, Desert View Bible Church, and serve as a volunteer football coach at Boulder Creek High School in Anthem, Arizona.
It is always nice to work with clients who are informed and understand the issues involved in a case. However, a client must be careful to not think they are too informed. The law is not always cut and dry and a client should always be willing to listen to the advice of their counsel.
Our firm often reviews documents prepared by clients. This is a great way for clients to get some of the necessary issues in a contract or document at a lower cost but still get high quality documents that have been reviewed professionally by an attorney.
We are willing to, and often participate in cases on a limited scope by providing advice and counseling for clients in a matter. This is especially helpful in cases that need to be prosecuted, but enough is not in dispute to justify having an attorney involved on a full time basis. This is another way for a client to save money and still receive quality legal advice.
From around high school I decided to be a lawyer. I am not sure exactly what led me to this conclusion other than I always found the law to be interesting. I loved legal television shows and movies from Perry Mason to Law & Order and the Practice. I also loved legal books and crime novels. This fascination with the law led me to being an attorney. Little did I know how different being a lawyer is from what television portrays.
I have worked in a variety of legal settings including government positions, small firms, and mid-size firms. This has given me a unique perspective in dealing with many different types of clients. It has helped me to understand the quality customer service that people expect from their attorney. Being an attorney is a service profession and too often lawyers forget that customer service is key to the attorney-client relationship. I also live and work in the community I represent, so I see my clients around town, at the store, etc. This also helps insure the highest level of care of my neighbors and clients.
I chose to open our law firm in the North Valley area because I wanted to live and work in a community. I wanted to be able to assist people near my home and provide the highest quality of legal services while still providing the small town values that are often missing.
I love the variety of what I do. Everyday involves a different issue. The variety keeps me on my toes and makes me a better attorney ready to help our clients.
We are a twelve attorney law firm that has attorneys that have handled virtually every type of case imaginable. Having the experienced group of attorneys at our firm allows us to provide high quality legal service to our customers. It also allows our attorneys to primarily focus on a particular area to stay current on the latest issues of the law.
One of my main strengths is my attention to customer service and my clients' needs. I make sure that I am there for my clients and handle their case in the manner in which you want it handled. If you want to aggressively fight your case, that is what we do. If you want to try and reach an amicable settlement, that is what we do. You are the client and we will tailor our representation to your needs.
I love spending time with my family, especially traveling, camping, fishing, enjoying the outdoors, and swimming in our pool. I enjoy playing and coaching sports of almost any kind. I like to work out to relieve the stress of the day and I love reading a book to relax.
