To help injured people get compensated for their pain and suffering, lost wages and other intangibles associated with a serious personal injury. To assist in simple estate planning such as wills and trusts and to guide people through the legal process known as probate.
My firm was established in 2002. I have had offices in Reno and Fallon, Nevada since that time. Prior to 2002 I was a member of a small two to four person firm in Reno, Nevada.
During college and law school I was employed as a parking attendant and bellman at a hotel-casino. Upon graduation from law school I was employed as a law clerk for the Second Judicial District Court in Reno, Nevada. After the one year clerkship I was hired as a Deputy Legislative Counsel for the Nevada Legislature and was employed there from 1989 to 1993.
I have performed pro bono service for Washoe Legal Services and am an active participant in the "Lawyer in the Library" program sponsored by the Washoe County Law Library.
I support such action. When a client is informed it makes my job of explaining the legal process that much easier.
Somewhat willing. However, for a large majority of these clients the document needs to be rewritten from scratch.
Limited. I only help people who are representing themselves in small claims actions.
Family Business. Both my father and brother are attorneys, therefore it was a natural choice to enter into a profession with built in contacts and guidance.
Working in the service industry taught me to treat all people the same. The same philosophy applies to the legal field. Everyone's legal matter is very important to that person, regardless of the gravity or amount involved.
It chose me. In other words, my primary areas of practice, personal injury and estate planning have become my main focus both from client demand as well as my personal preference.
The freedom of being self-employed.
Except for certain service such as executing documents before a notary public, I deal with all clients on a one-on-one basis.
My strengths are prompt action, expedited resolution and personal service. My style leans toward settlement over litigation. I firmly believe a client's interests are served in a vast majority of cases by reaching an agreement outside the courts. I also believe this approach is the most cost effective for the majority of people seeking legal services.
Hiking, golf, bird hunting, camping with my family, fiction and movies.
