Bankruptcy
Chapter 7 or 13 bankruptcies, wills and trusts.
CA, Dec 2006
Bar Number: 247393
California State and Federal Courts.
Amador County Bar Association and Chamber of Commerce.
I attend continuing legal education seminars on the topics of Family Law, Bankruptcy, Wills and Trusts, and Business Law. I have at least double the required education hours because I want to continually learn to better serve my clients.
I was featured in "Sweet Success", an article published in the magazine, Strictly Business. I was also featured in Ledger Dispatch, my local newspaper.
The buyers sued my clients, the previous owner of the home, for fraud, negligence, and breach of contract, seeking $75,000 in damages. I won this arbitration case and we were awarded attorneys fees.
I also represented a man whose wife was trying to get a restraining order on him. Typically, judges grant restraining orders, but I was able to put on a case and show the judge that there was not a domestic violence issue and that the wife had just wanted to have the husband's guns taken away from him because she knew that he competitively shot and because she wanted to punish him. I won, and she did not get the restraining order.

My focus right now is on bankruptcy because I believe that is where people need the most help. I would like to grow my wills and trust practice because I believe I'm giving people a beneficial product.
I established my firm right after I found out I passed the bar. This is my third career and I believe I bring a great deal of life experience with me into my practice and to my clients.
I started in the auto industry selling cars. Then I worked for Safeway in the retail stores before I went backstage and worked as the project co-coordinator for a construction project manager and assisted in building over ten Safeway grocery stores.
During law school I did pro bono work for Northern California Legal Aid.
I always try to assist my clients in educating themselves on the law!
I will review documents prepared by clients for my hourly fee.
I actually already assist clients in representing themselves. I do charge an hourly fee, but it does cost less and I tell them exactly what I would do.
I became a lawyer at the influence of my family. I also thoroughly enjoy helping people.
I have gone through many of the same challenges my clients are going through, such as bankruptcy and divorce.
I chose my primary area of practice because of my life experience.
I love assisting people through hardships in their life and maneuvering through the difficult challenges that legal dilemmas pose.
I am a solo practitioner, so all of my clients deal directly with me.
I am eager to learn and willing to go the extra mile for my clients. I zealously represent my clients.
I am very involved in my community. I have been a member of Soroptimists since 1992. I am also a member of the Amador County Chamber of Commerce and have just started attending cooking classes.
