I stay on top of legal issues by participating in various listserves offered by the Maryland State Bar Associations and classes and seminars given by Maryland's Institute of Continuing Professional Education for Lawyers (MICPEL).
1. House being sold by estate of murder victim. Hud had a loan of $20,000 - did not need to be paid off if borrower lived in property for five years. Murder had occurred after three years - successfully argued with top executives at Hud to have lien released.
2. Helped find a chain of title for a woman who thought she owned her property which was split between two lots. She owned only one. I was able to go back and discover where the chain had been broken and get title transferred into her name.
