I attend CLE seminars on a variety of topics, but mostly within the business law context in order to stay abreast of new developments. I usually exceed the required number of hours of CLE credit, my philosophy being that the more informed and prepared I am, the more I am able to provide full service legal representation to my clients.
I have a blog through my website concerning entertainment and arts law. I am currently working on an article to be published later this year.
I began practicing law in the transactional field, drafting and reviewing legal documents for businesses as well as individuals. For the past two years, I have primarily worked in civil litigation, beginning in high-level plaintiff's personal injury work but now focusing more on contract disputes, property damage and other general litigation matters for both businesses and individuals. My general practice firm combines both my transactional and litigation backgrounds.

I have a general practice law firm with an emphasis on small business concerns, ranging from initial considerations at start-up to more complex legal transactions as the business grows. I want my clients' businesses to succeed and I make it a point to ensure I do everything possible on my end so that the client can focus on growing and managing a successful business.
I began my law firm in March 2009. After several years of practicing law, I decided I wanted to work for myself in order to provide a better value to my clients through offering competitive rates and alternative billing, and by being unconstrained by big firm bureaucracy.
I moved to New York from Atlanta in March of 2006 in order to take a position with Sony Pictures Television as an associate legal producer on several television shows. Eventually I decided I wanted to gain courtroom experience and I took a position with a litigation firm, arguing motions and appearing on conferences before the court almost immediately. Based on this past experience, I am comfortable moving between both transactional and litigation roles.
I clerked for two state court judges in Georgia, including the Chief Justice of the Georgia Supreme Court, the highest state appellate court in Georgia. Immediately prior to starting my practice, I worked pro bono for the Urban Justice Center and I am currently associated with the law firm of Santoriella, DiTomaso, P.C. in an "of counsel" capacity.
An educated client can only benefit the attorney-client representation. Being as informed as possible is imperative for all parties to come to a mutual understanding about what the legal representation will entail.
I am more than happy to review documents prepared by a client. I will make suggestions and insert any language that may be necessary in order to make sure the client is protected to the fullest degree.
My initial consultations are free. If after the consultation, potential clients desire to represent themselves, I will refer them to the appropriate outside resources but can offer no further legal advice.
I like to take a situation and chart an appropriate course of action for it or, if a problem exists, find a beneficial solution to it. This works well within the practice of law, when you're dealing with matters that can impact a client's life and livelihood.
I love the challenge of law, which is an ever-changing field and for which I am constantly learning new things. I have extensive legal research and writing skills, from both my position as an assistant to a law professor as well as my clerkships with two judges. I also have a background in marketing and business; I know the importance of cultivating and maintaining business relationships and I carry that over into my practice. I have also worked as both a transactional attorney and a civil litigator, so I am prepared for any and all situations a client will face.
I am a general practice law firm because I want to build lasting relationships with my clients; the more I am able to benefit them, the better. My emphasis on business law came about because of my prior experience in marketing, and because several friends and members of my family have gone through the process of starting their own businesses. From their experiences it became clear to me what a relief it is for a client to have reliable legal counsel to assist in the process.
By far, the best part about being an attorney is the exciting challenge of meeting with clients and then coming up with a strategy for their specific situation. Law is forever evolving and the clients and their stories are what drives that.
I am a solo practitioner so all of my clients deal with me directly. I also include my cell phone number on my website in order for my clients to reach me if I am not in my office.
I am confident in my abilities. I have a relaxed and amiable manner, but I can be aggressive when the situation calls for it. I am enthusiastic about my clients and their cases.
I run a small not-for-profit gallery, showcasing my friends' (and friends of friends') artwork, such as photography, paintings and prints. I love music, write whenever I have some spare time and am an avid runner.
