Previous Employment Summary

Before practicing bankruptcy, I practiced constitutional litigation, dispute resolution and international law. My experience includes work at the United Nations, American Friends Service Committee, the Essex County Courts (NJ) and the Legal Action Center in NY.

I also worked as attorney for a national bankruptcy law firm in California where I used to manage five offices.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

We believe that the more informed our clients are as to the law and the process they are engaged in, the more empowered they become in regaining their financial control.
Some clients prefer minimum involvement and want their attorney to take full charge; others prefer to be very involved. Our bankruptcy law firm will accommodate either and will make sure the client feels safe and comfortable in every step of the process.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Our firm is always willing to review documents prepared by our clients.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I do not recommend filing a bankruptcy case without an experienced and licensed attorney, therefore we do not coach clients self-representation. There are too many schedules to prepare and file, too many documents to provide to the trustee, too many deadlines to miss, and too many issues that can arise. All that can lead to very unfavorable outcomes to the client.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I decided to be a lawyer because I always enjoyed helping people from different backgrounds. Bankruptcy law enables me to do exactly that - it's one of the few areas of law where you can make a big difference in people's lives and work with clients from different backgrounds.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

In the past I have worked with service and International organizations, such as the United Nations. These experiences made me appreciate people from all backgrounds and made me sensitive to their struggles. Because of this sensitivity, I can relate to clients better then many other attorneys, which makes my clients feel safe and comfortable.

Because I understand my clients' needs and their situations, I am motivated to get them swift results. The lawyers in my bankruptcy law firm are determined to go "above and beyond" for every client and help him/her get back the financial freedom they deserve.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

Consumer bankruptcy is one of the very few areas of practice where you get an opportunity to improve the lives of your clients and their families. There is a multitude of reasons why people find themselves facing overwhelming debt - often it's not even their fault. Whether from the bad economy, divorce, loss of income, or medical illness, these people deserve help and a fresh financial start.

Bankruptcy law gives me the opportunity to help people who find themselves in these difficult financial situations obtain the legal relief that the Federal Law entitles them to.

What do you like best about your career?

I receive great satisfaction when my clients thank me for helping them keep their businesses/ houses and are relieved to get rid of their debt.

Tell us about your law firm:

We truly care about our clients and about being ‘good'. We pride ourselves on not being a ‘typical' law firm that only cares about money. We treat our clients like family and always do what is best for them. That is how we earned our excellent reputation among clients and numerous referrals.

Please meet our staff online at our website www.waltzerlawgroup.com.

What are your strengths and style?

I am gentle with clients, firm with creditors, and knowledgeable about the intricacies of bankruptcy law. As a result, I am proud to get the majority of my bankruptcy cases approved quickly and without complication.

I provide aggressive advocacy to stop creditor harassment, stop foreclosures and protect my clients from creditors in every way.

Personal Interests:

I am passionate about languages, music, mountain sports, travel and philosophy.
