In 1999, I began a solo practice devoted to bankruptcy, consumer and commercial law, personal injury and contracts. Shortly thereafter, I began representing IT businesses as general counsel along with my bankruptcy and other clients. I have worked in and with diverse businesses in the computer hardware, software and support industries including small, medium-sized and Fortune 100 companies. I have handled very complex, multi-year and national contracts and negotiations, government contracting, mergers and acquisitions, labor and employment and various other legal areas relevant to such businesses.
I have recently begun working with the Baltimore law firm of Sirody, Frieman and Feldman, P.C. and, along with the firm, I am representing clients in the Maryland area. I run the DC Metro area office which is located in Greenbelt, Maryland. Sirody, Frieman and Feldman, P.C. includes attorneys with expert knowledge of bankruptcy, foreclosure, real estate, consumer and commercial laws, personal injury, criminal law and other areas.
Since 1996, I have been involved with debtor and creditor relations, bankruptcy, foreclosure, personal injury, business law, commercial and consumer law, real estate, litigation and a host of other legal areas. I have worked at several Baltimore and DC Metro law firms as well as in-house for software and Fortune 100 companies.
It is very important that my clients be well-informed. I spend quite a bit of time educating my clients since I believe they should well understand what they are doing and the procedures involved. That is why I have created a website full of useful information. See http://www.ominskylawoffice.com/
Document preparation is incredibly important in bankruptcy. I appreciate when my clients organize and bring in relevant documentation for the case as they are needed for the bankruptcy petition.
Bankruptcy is too complicated for people to file on their own. I see too many people who file pro se and end up creating a large mess that becomes incredibly difficult to extract from. Frankly, it is my opinion that if I was to coach someone who is filing pro se, I would be doing them a disservice. Further, under the bankruptcy rules, I believe that it might be unethical to coach a person who is filing bankruptcy.
I have always enjoyed helping people and when I am able to help it gives me great satisfaction.
Before I became a lawyer, I made a living as a network administrator, salesman, waiter/bartender, and restaurant manager. I believe all my work, social and educational experiences have helped me to create the winning personality I have today.
My area of practice allows me to help people and businesses with their problems. I enjoy helping and making a living while I do so.
I like being able to make a difference. Nothing is more satisfying than getting clients out of debt and providing them a fresh start. It always makes my day when a client sends me a heartfelt thank you card or gives me a hug after the hearing is completed.
My firm is full of good people who work as a team.
We are a busy practice but always treat each and every client as an individual. I continually tell my clients that we offer customized and personalized services. It is my belief that I am not just an attorney but a counselor as well. I prefer working personally with all of my clients and establishing a good relationship.
I enjoy puzzles -especially the addicting ones. I am an avid do it yourself person—as my wife would attest. One example is my web site. I did it myself -- so please do not laugh too hard when you look at it. I also enjoy music and my family.

Most Chapters 7 and 13 cases have fixed rate fees and costs. Please contact us to discuss.
Usually, we charge a flat fee for bankruptcy. However, our hourly fees are $250 to $350 for an attorney's time depending on the matter and issues.
The initial consultation is free.
There is no typical retainer as each client has different needs.
Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the applicable bar associations upon joining the directory.
Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any bar association.
