Superior Court of the State of California, and United States District Court.
Our divorce attorneys are members of the California State Bar, San Bernardino County Bar Association, Riverside County Bar Association and the Hemet Bar Association, and licensed to practice in United States District Courts.
Every year, I attend Riverside County seminars and conferences regarding recent developments in Family Law including all issues involving divorce, , child custody, child visitaion, support, division of property, domestic violence, and separation. I also stay abreast of all current Family Law issues through Family Law case reports, which I regularly review.
I have been interviewed and quoted many times in articles published by The Press Enterprise newspaper of Southern California regarding dissolution of marriage, matters of property division, and the housing and equity issues of divorce.
The majority of the cases handled by our Firm involve divorce and associated matters including child custody, visitation, and support, as well as pre-nuptial agreements, legal separation, spousal support and property division.

Our firm focuses on the individual needs of our clients. Our attorneys are always available to address any questions or concerns clients may have. Although we specialize in aggressive and zealous representation, our representation is strictly determined by the client's wishes - either aggressive or conciliatory, and the client is always informed each step of the way so that a fully informed decision can be made. No other divorce lawyer in Riverside County offers a more personal or aggressive divorce representation, whether it involves child custody, visitation rights, support, or any and all other issues related to dissolution of marriage.
Our attorneys hold over a decade of experience serving clients in Riverside County. The founder of the firm left a mid-sized firm desiring to provide a broader array of services to clients at a higher level. With a smaller firm that allows for a reasonable case load, we are able focus on clients with closer attention and can therefore develop more personalized representation.
Prior to the founding of The Law Office of Michael R.Young, APC, I practiced at a mid-sized firm located in the Inland Empire. It was a litigation firm concentrating on a very specialized field that demanded each lawyer carry a high case load. The narrow area of practice required short-term relationships and I was unable to offer clients a greater spectrum of legal representation that I would have preferred.
I completed an externship with the Honorable Robert Alberts, U.S. District Court, as well as with the Office of the United States Trustee.
When clients retain the Law Office of Michael R. Young, APC to represent them through divorce, the clients are fully informed about the legal issues that immediately impact their case. While it is usually good for a client to have a general understanding of the issues involved in his or her case, too much information could negatively impact a case. When a client continually second-guesses the strategy of the case, it can prove to be more time-consuming to work through and ultimately can cost a client more money.
The Law Office of Michael R. Young routinely requests that clients prepare a declaration or summary of the issues and / or chronology of divorce matters related to child custody and visitation, support, property division, and separation, which we thoroughly review. It is helpful in the preparation of the case. However, we are a full-service law firm and fully represent the client at all stages of a case from the pleading stage to court sessions.
The Law Office of Michael R. Young, APC is a full-service law firm and does not merely prepare documents, but will fully represent the client at all stages of a divorce case. Therefore, our office does not coach clients that represent themselves.
I chose to become a lawyer to be of service to my community with the desire to assist families during difficult times and, hopefully, improve the quality of their lives.
Personally, I thrive on intellectual challenges and am an aggressive individual who enjoys a vigorous debate; character traits which lend themselves well to the legal profession.
Unlike lawyers born with a silver spoon in their mouths, I came from a blue collar background and put myself through college and law school. My work experience includes a variety of jobs including construction, manufacturing and retail sales. My background, education and colorful work experience have empowered me with a great degree of people skills and knowledge to draw from and enabled me to be sensitive to client needs and provide them with exceptional representation.
I thoroughly enjoy the challenges associated with representing clients through divorce because of the wide variety and array of issues that it involves. Divorce law also allows for vigorous court room argument on a daily basis which, in turn, provides me with a considerable amount of courtroom experience, as well as close client contact.
As a divorce attorney in Riverside County, I've been able to continually build upon my existing law experience and knowledge, and have provided clients in the community with exceptional representation. In turn, I've become a recognized and respected leader in the community which, as a result, has given me a great sense of pride and accomplishment.
The Law Office of Michael R. Young, APC has a wonderful support staff that compliments our attorneys. Our staff is always available and anxious to help. All cases are assigned to a specific paralegal that is intimately acquainted with each case and is responsible for the preparation of case documents. Being intimately familiar with each case, they are able to answer most questions or inquiries clients may have when the attorneys are in court.
The divorce attorneys of our Firm are aggressive litigators with extensive experience with the courts in our area. We present clients with realistic possible outcomes and are able to predict the best strategy for achieving a client's desired outcome. Adding to our strength is an exceptional staff, which is efficient and responsive to clients. Therefore, our attorneys are always well prepared for court and able to vigorously represent clients during separation and divorce.
I enjoy the outdoors, riding motorcycles with my brothers and father, camping, and spending time with my family.
