Firm Focus and History

I have over eight years combined experience in the legal and financial professions. I also have many connections in the legal and financial communities. Prior to starting my own firm, I worked for a Northern California Law Firm, the Sonoma County District Attorney's Office, and Redwood Credit Union. I decided to start my own law firm because I wanted to practice law a different way. I want to bring integrity and personalized attention to my law practice by focusing on the best interest of my clients, while moving away from the traditional billing mentality and practices historically associated with the legal service industry. I want to bring an affordable alternative to large firm practices which generally lack the flexibility to tailor billing arrangements to accommodate the needs of the average person. My enthusiasm for the law, compassion for my clients, and aggressive method of litigation has brought many of my clients' successful results with their legal matters.

Previous Employment Summary

Prior to starting my own firm I worked for a multi-specialty Northern California Law Firm and focused my practice on civil litigation, criminal defense, and family law. Some of my experience at this law firm included the following:

• Investigated and researched factual basis of cases to prepare for trial. Conducted hearings and tried cases.
• Coordinated, managed, and executed four appellate matters.
• Attend and conduct mediations, arbitrations, and depositions.
• Draft complaints, motions for summary judgment, demurrers, and other pleadings relevant to civil law, criminal law, and family law.
• Facilitate settlements in numerous civil, criminal, and family law actions.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I am in favor of self-education. I also provide low-cost family law legal clinics to aid in the self-educating process.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Yes. This is one of the focuses of my low cost legal clinics.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Yes. This is one of the focuses of my low cost legal clinics.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I have a passion for the law and wanted to help people in an area where most people need assistance.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I think my former career as a banker helps me understand the financial effects of a divorce, and I believe my family life and daughter allow me to truly understand the emotions involved in all family law matters.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

My parents got divorced when I was young, and I wanted to understand the process and make it easier on those going through it.

What do you like best about your career?

The law is always changing. The answer today may not be the answer tomorrow. Assisting clients understand this perpetual evolution of the law is what I enjoy best about my job.

Tell us about your law firm:

I am a solo practitioner, so all of my clients deal directly with me.

What are your strengths and style?

I have a lot of compassion, but am aggressive when I need to be.

Personal Interests:

Family, movies and martial arts.
