Court-appointed judicial arbitrator.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

It is vitally important for clients to understand the issues involved in their case. At the first meeting I have with a new client, I help them understand exactly what their case is about and what the key issues are. This education continues throughout the case.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

We will gladly review any and all documents prepared by clients prior to representation.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I have assisted many clients who want to represent themselves.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

Lawyering best suited my skill set. If I performed better in the sciences, I probably would have gone into medicine.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I spent the first ten years of my practice working as an insurance defense lawyer representing insurance companies in personal injury and medical malpractice claims. Given this unique insider perspective into the workings of insurance companies and their claims handling, I have been extraordinarily successful in settling difficult claims. I worked for all the major California carriers including Allstate, Farmers, GEICO and State Farm.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I choose plaintiff's personal injury and medical malpractice claims because of my ten years experience working for insurance companies defending these claims.

What do you like best about your career?

I enjoy working directly with my clients.

Tell us about your law firm:

I handle all direct client communication.

What are your strengths and style?

I approach all communications with an eye toward the objective. When a soft touch is required, that is what I use. When the goal needs aggressive tactics, then that is what I use. Because of my experience as an insurance defense attorney, I know that different insurance companies have different claims handling philosophies. To be successful, one must be knowledgeable about these difference and flexible enough to use the right one.

Personal Interests:

Outside of my practice, my wife and two children.
