Clients should educate themselves and be familiar with the general legal process. However, when a client is charged with a criminal offense, and when the client's liberty is at stake, I recommend the assistance of an attorney.
I have no objection to reviewing documents prepared by clients if they are relevant to the case.
When a person's liberty is at stake, I do not recommend self-representation.
