We like to handle cases of catastrophic injury by reason of medical malpractice, product liability, auto accidents, or workplace injury. We have successfully represented clients in birth injury cases, delayed diagnosis of cancer cases, death cases, and all other types of serious injury matters. We concentrate in the representation of women and children injured by reason of medical negligence, but handle all types of personal injury cases.

I handled a birth injury case in which there was an excessive use of pitocin and a delay in performing a cesarean section in the face of fetal distress, which resulted in a multi-million dollar result. I have handled birth trauma cases involving the misuse of vacuum and forceps, cases involving the failure to diagnose pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, shoulder dystocia cases, and cases of pediatric malpractice.
I have represented women in failure to diagnose breast and ovarian cancer, and surgical error cases. I have achieved successful results in all types of medical negligence cases in my 34 years of practice.
I have also successfully handled cases involving delays in ambulance response, serious auto accidents, slip and falls, and product liability cases. I have represented men, women and children with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and burn injuries.

I established my firm in 1993, after having gained over 12 years of experience litigating on behalf of catastrophically injured clients at two major Philadelphia law firms. Stephen Ulan joined my firm soon after it was established, and Dr. Gerald Kaplan, a general surgeon who also has a law degree, became of counsel to the firm. Together we carefully evaluate, work up and litigate cases on behalf of our clients. While providing aggressive representation, we provide compassion and care to our clients along the way. We provide high-quality representation from AV-rated lawyers, with personalized attention in a small firm atmosphere.
We are a high quality firm that represents catastrophically injured individuals in their medical malpractice and personal injury cases. We have successfully represented
clients in birth injury cases, obstetrical negligence cases, delay in diagnosis cases, cases of surgical error, medication overdose, misread x-rays, and all aspects of hospital, doctor, and nursing negligence, achieving significant results. We have been very successful in handling serious injury cases for our clients.
I started my career as a public interest lawyer handling civil rights act cases, and then switched to the private sector where I worked and became a partner at the catastrophic injury firm of Bernstein, Bernstein, & Harrison, where I litigated medical malpractice, product liability, auto accident, and slip and fall cases. I then became a partner with the law firm of Kolsby Gordon concentrating on medical malpractice cases.
AV-Rated by Martindale-Hubbell since 1990, Judge Pro Tem for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.
I encourage clients to learn as much as they can about the legal process.
In personal injury litigation, there is little need for clients to prepare legal documents. However, clients are encouraged to keep diaries of their medical treatment and pain levels.
Unfortunately, this is not something which is advised in a serious injury case.
I have always wanted to fight for the rights of the average person. I am able to do this through my representation of seriously injured individuals.
My experience representing mothers with handicapped children and people who have themselves suffered life-altering injuries has given me the understanding and compassion necessary to effectively fight for my clients' interests.
By representing seriously injured individuals who are the victims of negligence, my legal skills are being used to help people who are in disadvantaged circumstances.
Enabling seriously injured clients to have better lives through the resources made available to them by the successful resolution of their cases.
My team consists of myself and Stephen Ulan. Both Steve and I are experienced lawyers in practice for 34 years. We have a doctor/lawyer available who assists with the screening of our cases and the medical analysis.
Your case is handled directly by a lawyer with experience and proven results. We are accessible to you, and explain things. We have integrity, are committed to you and your case, and while we aggressively pursue your case, we are compassionate and understanding about your circumstance.
We are experienced lawyers who provide high-quality representation. We aggressively represent your interests in an atmosphere that feels like a family firm.
