Admitted to all courts in the State of California. I can also appear pro hac vice in other states.

Continuing Education

Example Cases

The firm assists clients on transactions of all variety. We represent clients throughout the bankruptcy process from the filing to the discharge. The firm also has some experience in collections which helps us to see both sides of each issue and to anticipate creditor objections.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Quality representation requires that clients be adequately knowledgeable of relevant issues to make informed decisions. Client self-education greatly streamlines the process of an attorney consultation.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I will gladly review any documents that clients prepare.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Self-representation in an adversary proceeding is usually not a good idea for anyone - lawyers, too! - so I am not willing to coach clients who wish to represent themselves except perhaps for small claims matters, especially if it's for Judge Judy.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I decided to be a lawyer to help people exercise and defend their rights. In bankruptcy, I am able to help clients resist the overreaching of banks, large corporations, and collection agencies that intrudes on others and frustrates their pursuit of happiness.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I believe that attending a top tier law school and working for a federal judge modeled for me the high level of professionalism to which all lawyers should aspire. As a former teacher, I have some experience explaining the law in understandable language that clients can appreciate.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

Unlike many other lawyers, I can honestly say that I provide a productive and useful service to people that actually need my assistance. Quite simply, I chose my particular areas of practice because they allow me to help others.

What do you like best about your career?

I most appreciate being a small business owner. I also get great satisfaction knowing that I have helped others through a time of crisis.

Tell us about your law firm:

I am a solo practitioner so most client contact is directly with me. In addition, I employ a part-time paralegal and several translators who provide office support.

What are your strengths and style?

I am a focused listener and, I believe, a caring person. A chief strength of mine is that I enjoy helping others in need and truly believe in what I am doing. I firmly believe that bankruptcy is of vital importance to our Democracy and ultimately makes our economy and country strong both by permitting the expansion of consumer credit and by encouraging entrepreneurial activity.

Personal Interests:

I like to play soccer, read, and cook.
