I formed Perkins Law, PLLC in 2008 after almost two years with the Canyon County Prosecutor's office.
At Perkins Law, my goal is to help people who are going through a difficult legal situation. Some of life's most difficult challenges arise in the context of the legal system because it is often complex and confusing. You need someone who understands the court procedures and rules so your rights can be protected and your interests represented.
Prior to forming my own law firm, I was a deputy prosecutor for Canyon County. Before that, I clerked for the Honorable Joel D. Horton in the District Court of Idaho's Fourth Judicial District.
The more educated my clients are about the legal issues, the more they appreciate my services on their behalf. Understanding the legal issue you face is important, but it also does not replace the need for a good attorney to represent you in the courtroom.
I'm willing to review all documents. Depending on the type of case, the document may or may not be relevant, or admissible as evidence. It's important to know the particular rules that govern your type of case.
I am glad to share what I can about the legal system.
So much of our society is directly impacted by the legal system. I'm very inquisitive and I seek to understand the "why" behind everything that goes on around me. My legal education has helped me further develop my analytical abilities, and given me the resources to find answers. Using those skills, I can now help people who find themselves stuck in a legal situation and don't know how to proceed. It's very satisfying to be able to help people in those circumstances.
I previously worked as a deputy prosecutor for Canyon County, which gives me a huge advantage in the court room. I know almost all of the prosecutors and many of the other defense attorneys personally. I'm also familiar with the judges in this area, having appeared before them daily during my time as a deputy prosecutor.
It's where I see the most opportunity to help people and the area in which I'm most experienced.
I really enjoy being able to help people. Most people who need my services are not in their situation by choice. Sometimes they feel stuck and unable to proceed because of the complexity of the legal system. It's very satisfying to be able to help people in those circumstances.
I am a sole practitioner, so all of my clients deal directly with me. I treat every client with the respect I would like from a true professional helping me with an unfamiliar area.
I'm very personable and very thorough. People find that I am easy to work with, and I know the law. I work hard for my clients to get a fair resolution.
