I attend continuing legal education seminars on family law and consumer bankruptcy law; I have completed collaborative law training. I speak to lawyer groups and non-lawyer groups about bankruptcy as it relates to family law.
I am a regular contributor to the Chicago Bar Association Alliance for Women newsletter.
I represent individuals and married couples in the filing of chapter 7 or chapter 13 bankruptcies. I represent couples in joint bankruptcies prior to divorce, when that will enable them to have an easier, more amicable, and less expensive divorce by eliminating a substantial amount of their debt. I also represent single parents in consumer bankruptcy cases, who have suffered tremendous financial consequences as a result of divorce.

I established my solo practice in August of 2008 after practicing law for over twenty years with several different law firms.
I help individuals and couples file for consumer bankruptcy with a special interest in bankruptcy as it relates to family law matters.
I was a law clerk to a United States Bankruptcy Judge in 1988 and have practiced bankruptcy law since that time. I worked for large, medium, and small law firms in Houston, Texas for many years. I have represented debtors, creditors, and a Chapter 7 Trustee. Prior to establishing my own practice, I worked for a small consumer bankruptcy firm in the Chicago area, representing debtors and a Chapter 7 trustee.
I am a partner with my clients in helping them make informed, educated decisions as to whether bankruptcy is a good option for them.
I am willing to do whatever I can to help my clients. I am accessible to them by phone, email, and office visits and will promptly answer their questions and respond to their concerns.
No, given the complexity of bankruptcy law and procedure.
My father was a great lawyer. I developed analytic and writing skills as an English major in college. I wanted to use my reading and writing skills, to help people improve their lives.
I have represented creditors, debtors, and a Chapter 7 trustee and practiced law in three states (Iowa, Texas, and Illinois). I have a special interest in helping individuals and couples resolve their family and financial problems by filing bankruptcy, if that will alleviate some of their difficulties and help them move toward a brighter future.
I was a law clerk to a bankruptcy judge in 1988. As a result, I had the experience to pursue my law career in the bankruptcy area. Because of child rearing and family moves, I changed jobs several times in my career and each time bankruptcy was the area of law in which I was most qualified. The bankruptcy area of practice enables me to help people and is also intellectually interesting.
I am happy when I can help people alleviate problems of their past and work toward a brighter future. I have the personal experience to be empathetic and I handle my clients with patience and kindness.
I am a solo practitioner, so all clients deal directly with me.
I am detailed and thorough. I am personable and easy to talk to.
I am raising four sons. In the meantime I enjoy reading, writing, improving my public speaking, and do triathlon training.
