I worked with a construction company with massive vendor debt and pending disputes to secure property and potential business. I helped the client realign business goals and spending in order to renegotiate with vendors. The client kept customers and saved the business.

We work with small businesses and start-up companies, helping these clients start, manage and grow their businesses through sound legal decisions. Our work ranges from start-up to private offer and IPO of insolvency (bankruptcy).
The firm was established after breaking off of a larger firm in 2001, founded by Tom Dunlap and Dan Grubb. Our firm slowly grew as a business-focused practice over the next eight years to an eight-attorney firm.
I was previously employed in commercial banking and I currently serve as the CEO and founder of a start-up company called Ceres Nanosciences.
Former Special Prosecutor, Firm is Martindale Hubbel rated BV, 2008 SuperLawyer (Tom Dunlap), 2006 Top Ten NOVA Lawyers for litigation (Tom Dunlap).
I believe that it is important for clients to understand the legal issues and potential outcomes of their case. I strive to educate clients by providing them with as much information as possible.
I am willing to do so.
This depends on the type of representation. I will not coach clients in court cases.
I have a penchant for discussion and believe that it is one of the best ways to positively affect the business community.
I have experience as an Army Officer and company commander (cavalry officer), pilot, rescue diver, commercial banker and am the founder of my own firm. I am also the founder and CEO of a very successful and nationally-recognized biotech company.
This was the most complex and interesting area of law.
I like the academic freedom to craft the right solutions and the diversity of experiences the job affords me to learn about new people, business models and technologies.
I am the managing partner, but I deal directly with my clients. Depending on the case type, one or more other partners or associates and paralegals work with me, but I am always directly accessible via my direct dial phone and e-mail.
I am rationally aggressive and always seek to see a legal issue from the opposing party's viewpoint. I believe the best way to be successful in a situation is to be well prepared with a deep understanding of the underlying facts, the law and the counter party's goals.
I enjoy SCUBA, flying, sailing, kickboxing, and I am active in a number of charitable organizations as a board member, including the community free clinic, the United Way, the local bar association and other community projects. I serve as a politically-appointed commissioner for the Leesburg Executive Airport near the Dulles Airport in Virginia.
