What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

The internet is the greatest source of information and misinformation. Clients, of course, may represent themselves, but they need to recognize when it is prudent to hire private counsel.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Willing to review documents prepared by clients with proper warnings and admonitions.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Willing to coach clients to represent themselves with proper warnings and admonitions.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

The intellectual and physical challenge of taking a case to trial.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

Having kids, teaching mock trial, being married, and having tried approximately 40 jury trials have all made me a better listener and, therefore, a better trial lawyer.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I enjoyed the thrill and challenge of trying cases to juries.

What do you like best about your career?

The thrill and excitement of taking a case to twelve strangers, and the variety of legal problems that are brought to me.

Tell us about your law firm:

I am a solo practitioner, with two assistants, Vicky and Marisa. Vicky speaks Spanish fluently and is committed to a career in law. Marisa has twenty years of experience who never loses her cool.

What are your strengths and style?

To be prepared on the facts and law, persuade the prosecutor of the reasons why we will prevail, and to use courtesy and professionalism to represent the client's best interests, always.
