Firm Focus and History

In 2008, I decided to stop working in large law firms representing multi-national corporations and founded my own firm to represent regular people with real world problems. Clients' divorces are usually some of the most important events in their lives. I enjoy being able to help people through that challenging process.

My firm focuses on marital and family law and civil litigation. In addition to divorces and family law matters, we will consider handling most types of lawsuits.

Previous Employment Summary

I previously worked at some of the most prestigious law firms in America, including Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, one of New York's leading law firms, and the two largest law firms in Florida, Holland & Knight LLP and Greenberg Traurig.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I always encourage clients to learn as much as possible about the law that will govern their rights. An educated client is a much better client.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I will review documents prepared by pro se litigants.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I do not coach clients who want to represent themselves.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I decided to become a lawyer so that I could help people navigate through some of the most difficult times in their lives.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

Prior to founding my own law firm, I spent seven years working in some of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the world. I learned to treat all clients with the respect and dignity they deserve, respond to clients in a timely manner, and keep clients informed about their cases. I also learned how to analyze cases and advocate at a higher level, not just a higher volume. As a former U.S. Marine, I learned to relate to people from all walks of life. As a parent, I learned why people take issues concerning their children so seriously. Until I had my own, I never truly appreciated the love and concern that mothers and fathers have for their children.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

Foremost, I have a love for family and children. My wife is a School Psychologist, and we have always shared a desire to help families work through their greatest challenges. I also have a background in computers, finance, business litigation, and taxation, all of which come in handy as a family law attorney.

What do you like best about your career?

I enjoy meeting and working with many different people. I try to help restore their faith in the judicial system. I also genuinely appreciate the relief that a client feels when his or her case is concluded.

Tell us about your law firm:

I own my own practice, and I am affiliated with a larger firm here in Tampa. So, I give my clients the personal attention they deserve, and I have the resources of a bigger firm behind me.

What are your strengths and style?

I work hard at being a good listener. I always prepare very diligently for every appearance before the Court, which makes me better able to represent my clients. I am always willing to consider a compromise, but I will advocate strongly for my clients' rights.

Personal Interests:

My wife and I enjoy being parents. We make frequent trips to the Florida Aquarium and the Lowrey Park Zoo. We enjoy watching all sports, especially college football. I also like to fish, read, and keep up with current events.
