I am on the Board of Directors of Human Options, a non-profit organization helping women and children who are victims of domestic violence rebuild their lives. I am also an active member of Women in Leadership and Court Appointed Special Advocates.
We encourage our clients to educate themselves on the law and the process of divorce. We feel this is important to empowering clients through the divorce process.
We are happy to review documents prepared by prospective clients.
Our willingness to coach a client would have to depend on the particular situation presented.
I wanted to be a lawyer at an early age. The intellectual challenge and the many different areas of law were intriguing.
I have a Bachelor's of Science degree that greatly assists me in handling complex financial issues associated with dissolution. I have spent over 14 years volunteering as an advocate for abused and neglected children. This has strengthened my already deep understanding and appreciation of what children experience as they go through the dissolution process with their parents.
I chose family law initially because it encompassed many different areas of law and not just the area of divorce. Family law involves business law, civil law, criminal law, estate planning, bankruptcy law and tax law to mention a few. I enjoy the challenge each individual case has to offer and the opportunity to assist my clients in steering them toward a start of a new chapter in their lives.
I like that I am able to help clients through a difficult time in their lives and take them through the process with attention and understanding.
My partner, Nancy Dahan, and I have been together for over eight years. She has been practicing family law for over 20 years, and is an experienced litigator with a strong background in complex trial work.
Our associate, Heather Biddle, has been practicing law for over seven years. She has extensive expertise in family law.
Our paralegal, Julie, has many years of experience in family law. She is extremely attentive to all of our clients and is available for any questions or needs that our clients may have.
I am a great listener, and do not rush through client meetings. I take the time to understand every detail of my clients' lives and the desired outcome for their case. I am extremely personable and available virtually 24 hours a day either by phone or e-mail.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
Julie.
