Previous Employment Summary

Activities and Awards

I've been a volunteer Judge Pro Tem for Sacramento County Superior Court Small Claims Court for 30 years.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

It is great when clients already have an idea about the process of estate planning before they come to my office. I like to educate my clients as much as I can during our design meeting. The more my clients are familiar with the different topics that I will cover, the better discussion I can provide and the more of their questions I can address.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I will review documents that have been drafted by clients, however, I will also clearly suggest, when appropriate, that they should hire an attorney for their legal representation. The hourly fee applies to consultations.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I will counsel clients who want to represent themselves. My hourly fee will apply to the consultation services.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I enjoy working with clients on their financial matters helping them to realize their goals. I have the fortunate role of helping my clients to make some of the most important decisions in their lives - namely entrusting their lives, assets and children with designated agents for the remainder of their lifetimes or after their demise.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

My volunteer position with the Small Claims Court as a Judge on a monthly basis for thirty-five years, seeing all kinds of cases involving all types of people and making judicial decisions for people who have never been exposed to the legal system, based on the evidence presented and helping individuals to mediate their matters before the court.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I enjoy helping the elderly of our society prepare an estate plan, for their future distributions of their acquired assets during life.

What do you like best about your career?

I love meeting people and getting to know them. Finding out about what is important to them, what kind of legacy they want to leave behind and how they live their lives, which is both interesting and educational.

Tell us about your law firm:

I have been a solo practitioner since 1970 and my clients work with me directly. I have a legal assistant who is very attentive to my clients' needs.

What are your strengths and style?

I am a very outgoing person and I embrace my clients' needs by educating them about the estate planning process. My personalized planning process emphasizes education and implementation. I believe education is paramount to understanding and developing the perfect plan for clients' families.

Personal Interests:

I enjoy reading, art museums, family gatherings, and spending time with my children.
