Firm Focus and History

Firm was established in 1999 and has continued to provide legal advice to individuals and small businesses since its inception.

For 18 years, I have devoted my practice to bankruptcy. For nearly eight years, I worked as a law clerk to bankruptcy judges. During the last nine years, I have been a sole practitioner assisting individuals and small businesses with financial issues.

Previous Employment Summary

Prior to opening my own firm, I worked as a law clerk to three different U.S. Bankruptcy Judges.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Clients should review as much information as they can before meeting with an attorney, including the qualifications of the attorney. Is the attorney's practice related primarily to bankruptcy? Is the attorney available for your questions? How many years of experience does the attorney have? What do other attorneys think of your attorney?

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I am unwilling to review documents. The mere asking that a lawyer review documents creates an attorney/client relationship that exposes the attorney to any consequences that may result in the action.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I do not believe I can assist a people who want to represent themselves.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I decided to become an attorney as my way to help people.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I was raised by a loving family that enjoyed helping in the community, and have this same desire to help people.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I love bankruptcy law. It challenges me intellectually and also provides a way to help people similar to me.

What do you like best about your career?

I enjoy being able to help people get to the financial freedom that bankruptcy can provide.

Tell us about your law firm:

My paralegal is available at any time to answer client questions.

What are your strengths and style?

I am very honest with my clients, and do not try to sell potential clients on bankruptcy; rather, I discuss all of their options. If I feel that I cannot help, I let potential clients know immediately.

Personal Interests:

I am involved in my church and community and have been president of the local youth baseball league.
