Our firm focuses on providing quality, affordable legal representation in the following areas: bankruptcy, foreclosure defense and personal injury.
Chris and I founded The McCue Law Firm, PA together after we graduated law school in 1995.
I have been practicing law since 1995.
I believe strongly in the need to give back to those less fortunate members of our community. As such, I do pro bono work for Legal Aid in my area or practice.
I'm all for clients educating themselves! I firmly believe in educating and informing clients so that they can make sound decisions for themselves. An educated client generally leads to a more effective representation.
I'm always willing to review documents prepared by clients.
No I am not willing to coach clients because I see this as a recipe for disaster. Bankruptcy has become far more complex in recent years. Mistakes in this area of the law can be very costly, so I'm generally not willing to do it half-way.
Although I grew up with every advantage (good schools, loving parents), I always felt a great deal of compassion for those less fortunate (My husband jokes that this is what attracted me to him). Becoming a lawyer to help others was my way of giving back for all the blessings in my life.
Coincidentally, I was a philosophy major in college before going to law school. Studying philosophy has given me the ability to look at all angles of a potential problem and to think "outside the box" when necessary in order to advance my clients' interests. Through vast amounts of reading, researching, and continuing legal education courses, I strive to keep current on the new laws.
Bankruptcy is an area that is in a constant state of flux. New judicial decisions in different districts, as well as bills recently passed or still pending in Congress, can have monumental impact on my clients' cases. I need to be thoroughly informed so I can provide the competent legal representation that my clients need and deserve.
Bankruptcy is a guaranteed right in the constitution. I firmly believe that everyone deserves a second chance to get their finances straightened out. With so many people currently out of work, the need for affordable, competent bankruptcy representation is greater now than ever. I am proud to play a part in filling that need in the community. It's a wonderful feeling to help someone shed the oppressive debt and get a fresh start in life.
There are many things. First and foremost, I derive tremendous satisfaction from seeing the life-changing transformation that bankruptcy affords to my clients. It's like a cloud has been lifted for them. Additionally, I enjoy the flexibility of owning my own business. It enables me to spend more time with my kids. I also love working together with my husband (believe it or not). We work on all files together, so our clients get the benefit of two legal minds for the price of one.
We have a wonderful and experienced bankruptcy paralegal that assists with our bankruptcy cases.
My firm is approachable. No one ever feels judged or intimidated around me or my husband, Chris. I am naturally a compassionate person who is willing to go the extra mile for clients.
My personal interests revolve around my two little boys. When it's Little League season, I'm the biggest baseball fans you've ever seen! Whether it's chess tournaments (our older son competes), sporting events, or some other entertainment, it's all about the kids when I'm not working, and I wouldn't have it any other way!
