What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Clients who learn about legal issues in their cases and provide information to the attorney are a great help.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

We are willing to review documents.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

No, we are not willing to coach clients to represent themselves.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I always liked to read and analyze issues.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I have been a family lawyer for 40 years. I am very experienced and can analyze issues in a cost-efficient manner. I also attempt to resolve most cases by settlement. I sometimes mediate family law cases.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

Family law is most interesting because it touches all areas of the law: community property, tax, retirement plans, and personal issues such as custody of children.

What do you like best about your career?

I get satisfaction from doing a good job and reducing the stress and anxiety of the dissolution process.

Tell us about your law firm:

We have three attorneys in our twenty-attorney firm who practice family law. Michelle Robins has practiced family law for 21 years after graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Berkeley. Vanessa Nellis has practiced family law for six years after graduating with honors from the University of Southern California. We provide top flight legal representation at affordable rates.

What are your strengths and style?

I know when to settle cases and when to take cases to trial. We attempt to settle or mediate all our cases, but we are aggressive litigators if a trial is required.

Personal Interests:

I like to spend time with my family (wife, three children, and five grandchildren). I also enjoy traveling and golf.
