Example Cases

I have many clients with adjustable rate mortgages that have recently reset. This often causes them to get behind on their payments, which results in foreclosure. I am able to help file for Chapter 13 bankruptcy, which stops the foreclosure and creates a five-year payment plan. I also help clients who can't pay off credit card bills due to unforeseen circumstances file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Firm Focus and History

At our firm, we focus strictly on consumer bankruptcy cases. We've helped thousands of families discharge their debt and get a fresh start.

Our firm has been active since 2006 and prior to this, I had six years of experience under a different firm name. I have been continuously devoted to the consumer bankruptcy area of law.

Previous Employment Summary

My previous employment was also in the area of consumer bankruptcy.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I think it's wise for clients to research their legal issues as well as the attorneys they are going to retain. However, clients need competent legal representation and someone who can guide them through the process.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I offer free consultation and am happy to review cases and pending documents on a pro se basis.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Although, I am willing to review documents at no charge, if clients want legal advice, they will have to retain my services at the standard fees.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I've always had a fascination with the law. When I was a student at Abeline Christian University, I wanted to be part of a profession where I could give back and help others. I had an inclination toward accounting and finance, so consumer bankruptcy was the natural combination of the two.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I am from a small town and grew up out in the country. I've worked since I was young, so I understand what it's like to work hard to make ends meet. Because of this, I understand how to approach clients and their cases.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

With an accounting and finance background, I am best suited toward transaction and detail-oriented work. Bankruptcy suits me both professionally and personally, since I find the work interesting and can help others.

What do you like best about your career?

I like the look on my clients' faces and the things they say to me after the initial consultation. They are grateful that the stress and pressure of bills is off their shoulders.

Tell us about your law firm:

I have gone to great pains to find staff who are like-minded and care about helping clients, providing professional customer service.

What are your strengths and style?

My strength is the ability to complete tasks in a timely, efficient manner. My style is nonjudgmental and empathetic. I understand that if clients fully knew what they were doing, they wouldn't be seeking my help. I don't look down on others for needing assistance during difficult times.

Personal Interests:

I like to golf, watch movies and attend sporting events.
