Wills, Trusts & Estates
I prefer to handle cases involving estate planning, wills, trusts, power of attorneys, probate, and conservatorships.
CA, Jun 2005
Bar Number: 236565
California state and Federal courts.
Los Angeles County Bar Association, San Bernardino County Bar Association, and Western San Bernardino County Bar Association.
I attend continuing legal education classes in estate planning, probate, taxation, and elder law.
I was published in the Journal of Juvenile Law.
Once, a widower came in to my office. He and his wife had created a trust many years before but had never funded it. I assisted their family in probating assets solely in the deceased wife's name, and in properly funding the trust to avoid the same thing happening in the event of the husband's death.
Another case I handled involved a husband and wife who wanted to create a simple will. After talking to them I found that a will would cause two problems: A) their estate would go through probate because it was over $100k, and B) their adult child, who was severely handicapped, would have been disqualified from all of her own benefits by virtue of receiving an inheritance. I was able to set up an ongoing special needs trust which allowed the daughter to receive the inheritance without losing benefits, and avoiding probate.

The focus of my firm is on assisting individuals with planning for death or incapacity. We help people prepare wills, trusts, power of attorneys, health care directives, special needs trusts, irrevocable trusts, and entity formation. We also assist in administering estates after death.
The firm was established in 2005 in Claremont, California.
I have worked in the legal profession since the early 90s. Previously, I worked for small, medium and large law firms in various positions from receptionist up. For five years prior to becoming an attorney, I worked as senior paralegal for a boutique estate planning firm.
I have done some pro bono work for the local legal aid.
I encourage clients to educate themselves on legal issues.
I am not willing to review client-prepared documents. There is too much liability on the attorney in this kind of situation, so I prefer not to get involved.
I am willing to give people guidance on helping themselves in appropriate circumstances.
When I was a teenager, I worked in a law firm. Later, I became a paralegal and must have loved the experience because I headed to law school. The rest is history. I love what I do.
Working in the legal field in various positions has helped me to become a better lawyer. I understand the value of customer service. Having prepared and administered hundreds of estates, I have real life experience dealing with a wide variety of family and asset situations.
I enjoy helping individuals and families gain peace of mind by getting their affairs in order. I also enjoy assisting survivors in settling estates as easily as possible.
I like working with people, helping families avoid problems, looking down the road, and minimizing future problems.
I am a solo practitioner, so all of my clients deal directly with me. I have a wonderful assistant who is attentive to all of my clients' immediate needs.
I give personal attention to my clients. I am willing to answer all client questions and make referrals when necessary. I draft all documents personally and explain every document as well.
I am raising two young children. I enjoy spending time with my family, jogging, and playing racquetball. I am also a movie lover.
