Trained in collaborative law divorce.

Coconino County Bar Association, Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce, American Immigration Lawyer's Association (AILA).
Arizona requires 15 hours per year of continuing legal education, and I complete far more than the required amount of work per year. I have attended continuing legal education classes and training in the areas of collaborative law (20 hours), mediation (40 hours), and Trial Skills through the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (50 hours) I also regularly listen to educational cd's about family law related issues, immigration law topics, and estate planning materials, as well as legal office managerial issues.
Here are some classes that I have attended:
February, 2008 50 hour National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA).
Trial Skills Institute Participant. Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
July, 2007 40 hour Mediation Training Participant. Instructor: Kate Otting from Interaction Management Associates. Flagstaff, AZ.
January 2007 20 hour Collaborative Divorce Team Trainings, Phoenix, AZ.
I have represented small business owners (dentists, bank owners, owners of construction companies etc.) in divorce on property-debt division issues. I ensured details like that the Marital Settlement Agreements wouldn't violate shareholder agreements and business partnership agreements.
I have represented parties getting divorced from retired military personnel, and negotiated the payment of spousal support and the division of property, income, and retirements funds.

I think it is a lawyer's obligation to educate their client throughout the process of their legal proceeding. I do my best to put my client at ease by giving them as much information as I can about what their rights and responsibilities are during the litigation by providing them with copies of relevant statutes, case law, and procedural rules.
I often review documents prepared by clients. I ask them to make drafts and we work together to finalize the documents. I also ask them to prepare statements of facts and journals to better assist them in recalling critical facts for the case.
Also, I offer document preparation services at a reduced price rate of $75/hour; because I understand that many litigants do not want to or cannot afford to pay for the full legal representation rate.
I am willing to assist clients who want to or are compelled to represent themselves at court hearings by researching and providing them with copies of the law, helping them apply the law to their case, and helping them prepare for their court appearances by explaining what happens at hearings and what critical information the court needs from them.
I have a good analytical mind. My mom was a law school graduate and my dad was a justice of the peace. They encouraged me to go into the legal field. I always admired attorneys, because of the potential in this career to help people who can't speak effectively for themselves. I've enjoyed helping people change their lives for the better, or get through a difficult period in their lives.
I have a lot of empathy for the situation of others, and compassion. That's needed, especially in family law.
There is such a need for attorneys in this area of law. I feel I am well-suited to practice family law because I am willing to work hard to listen and achieve client's goals.
The best thing about my career is the sense of satisfaction that I get from helping clients when they are in bad situations. Clients are often so grateful for the strong and compassionate help that I give them that just interacting with them throughout the process is rewarding.
My husband is a paralegal and works for me. We run my office together, keeping my costs down, which in turn allows me to offer discounted rates to my clients. My office is across the street from the courthouse, so I have quick and convenient access to the court.
I am very ethical person. I don't overcharge, and keep a good rapport with my clients. I am a good listener. I have a big heart, and try to do what is best for them to minimize the financial and emotional strain that too often goes along with litigation.
I like volunteering with my church. I am involved with my children's athletics. I love to travel and spend time with my family.

Rates depend on the circumstances of the case, the issues involved, the degree of conflict, and the complexity of the case. Payment plans are available.
Full legal representation, I charge $200 per hour. I will reduce the rate by 25% to $150 per hour if a client contacts me through the Nolo website. For document preparation services, I charge $75 per hour.
$100 per hour for a consultation. During the consultation I quote them the retainer amount and fees.
The retainer often depends on the complexity of the case and the degree of the conflict. It may be as little at $750, or as much as $5,000.
Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the applicable bar associations upon joining the directory.
