The firm was established in March 1991.
The primary focus of the firm is bankruptcy law. We represent both creditors and debtors.
The firm also represents plaintiffs in personal injury and professional malpractice matters.
Before opening my firm I was an associate with a general practice firm in Walnut Creek, where I practiced primarily bankruptcy, personal injury and professional malpractice. Prior to that, I was an associate with a bankruptcy firm in San Francisco representing debtors, creditors and trustees. Before that I spent one year as a research attorney for the Santa Clara County Superior Court.
During the summer of 1984 I was a law clerk for Justice Allen E. Broussard of the California Supreme Court.
I encourage clients to learn as much as they can and to ask questions about legal matters. The better informed a client is, the more thorough our discussion can be, and the more accurate and helpful my advice will be.
I am always willing to review documents prepared by clients. I can't represent clients without doing so, especially in bankruptcy cases.
If a person wants to represent him or herself, then they are not a client. I can offer general advice to non-clients, but cannot coach them for liability reasons.
I decided to become a lawyer because the intellectual challenge, the variety of possible practice areas, and the opportunity to help people all appealed to me.
I spent several years, between college graduation and law school, employed in the blue collar work force. I was a union member long enough to earn a pension. I apply these experiences to my bankruptcy practice.
My first position as an associate attorney was with a firm that specialized in bankruptcy, and I enjoyed it.
The intellectual challenge, the opportunity to help people and the freedom of self employment are the best things about my career.
I am a solo practitioner, so all of my clients deal directly with me.
I am intelligent, experienced and concerned about clients. I'm generally easy-going.
I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, backpacking, cycling and white water rafting. I also enjoy reading and photography.
