What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I appreciate client involvement in their legal matters, including education and participation in the process.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I have done so for many years, and frankly I have found that it normally takes more time to review client-prepared documents than to prepare them from scratch.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

This usually involves a small claims matter.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

Initially, it was to further my education and to compliment a degree in Accounting. For the past 22 years I have found that my education continues (each day) and that I enjoy helping people with legal issues.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

Next to actually practicing law and trying cases before juries, teaching courses at De Anza College for more than 20 years has been the most significant educational source for my development as a lawyer.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

Growing up in an agricultural community, I learned the value of real estate, its development and uses. This knowledge spurred my interest in this area of law practice.

What do you like best about your career?

The variation and complexity of real estate legal issues is what I enjoy most about the practice.

Tell us about your law firm:

Our firm began in 1978, focusing on real estate, business, and civil litigation. Our goal is to serve our clients with our team of business and litigation lawyers.

What are your strengths and style?

My strength and expertise is perseverance.

I am solution oriented. I am driven to come up with solutions to legal problems.

Personal Interests:

I enjoy family, sports, books, and art.

Nolo's Licensing Check

Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the applicable bar associations upon joining the directory.

Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any bar association.
