Firm Focus and History

I established Taylor & Associates in 2004 after practicing for several years with firms in the Atlanta area. I sought to develop a law firm with a focus on customer service and individualized attention.

At Taylor & Associates we focus on providing our clients with individualized attention. New clients meet directly with the attorney, not a paralegal, and clients work with the same attorney throughout the entire process. Your attorney gets to know your individual needs and we are therefore better able to effectively serve your needs.

Previous Employment Summary

I was previously employed with The Rushing Firm, Ltd., a real estate and litigation firm in Atlanta. Following that, I accepted a position at the Law Office of David Miller in the Buckhead area, where I focused entirely on Chapter 11, 13 and 7 bankruptcy representations. In 2004 I founded Taylor & Associates, LLC.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I always find it helpful if a client knows the basics of bankruptcy prior to our initial visit, but it is not necessary to "prepare" for a meeting with an attorney. During the consultation, I strive to educate the client by informing them of the applicable law and demonstrating how we will use that law to help them in their situation.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I am happy to review, and where appropriate, revise and file bankruptcy documents prepared by the client themselves.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I am not willing to coach someone who would wish to represent themselves. The only way I can guarantee that you will receive the expected outcome is if I handle the bankruptcy case from beginning to end.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I decided to become a lawyer in order to use my passion for a good debate in a positive way. I love insightful, thoughtful discussions and in high school this led me to join the mock trial team. We won the State championship my first year and I won the "most effective advocate" award for the state; from that point, I was hooked!

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I am from a rural part of South Georgia, and I attended college at the University of Georgia. As a result I have experienced both the rural easy-pace where everybody knows your name, as well as the hustle and bustle of a large state university where you have to make your presence known in order to accomplish anything. I believe this helps me relate to people from all walks of life.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

After spending my first few years of practice handling real estate evictions, I found my chosen area of law to be quite depressing. Therefore, I chose to change to bankruptcy in order to use my education as help to others, rather than a hindrance.

What do you like best about your career?

Through bankruptcy I see my clients come in feeling hopeless, despondent and stressed. However they always leave feeling optimistic, relaxed and focused on how their situation can be turned around. The smiles, the sighs of relief and the "thank yous" are a huge reward!

Tell us about your law firm:

I am a solo practitioner so all of my clients deal directly with me from start to finish. I have two able assistants who are sensitive to my client's needs and who are able to reach me anytime I am out of the office for emergencies on a moment's notice.

What are your strengths and style?

I strive to be a good listener and attentive to the needs of the client before me. No two cases or situations are the same, so the advice I give is suited specifically for the client at hand.

Personal Interests:

I enjoy music, drawing and spending time with my husband and our two beautiful children.
